IT toy is one of the best example
United drift @ RM140 isn't too bad, although slight higher but rare to see 1 around. It's still a good catch as color is better than hasbro Drift.
Famitoy have quite numbers of vintage Tfs... those are not us to judge as it's super rare and you really like it, then go ahead and buy. I found a very memorable tf over there, G2 stuffs @ RM200++ after negotiate but until today i still didn't purchase it

If it's something you really want then go ahead and you are a happy man. I have being scalped too (most of us had)... that's why i will resort find sources from oversea if local price is hard to swallow.
for your last question... For rare stuff normally i wont offer my price, but will ask buyer to offer. If price offer isn't bad and buyer willing to pay, then the deal is on. These deal are easy to seal especially buyer is prepare to pay

if buyer can't even offer, they might be just survey/ ask price only. if it's something not that rare then i'll just follow market price, coz the price wont make much/ any profit. Shop is different as they need to put a price on it, high or low it's their choice. Some tf generation old stuffs can be found in summit USJ as they are still selling @ retail only. No discount no scalp.
Thanks, I might check out USJ summit one day. Only place I haven't been in the area.
IT Toys.. since the early days when they were in MidValley also known for being scalpers.
In BTS I like that shop opened by a LYN forum here.. ps3transformer09. His prices are generally pretty reasonable.
Another factor for me is sometimes I just don't have the time to go hunting all over. As you know some of these shops also sometimes don't really follow their operating hours, especially when you only have free time to hunt during lunch hour. Understandable as many of these shops are self-owned and open at malls that don't enforce opening hours etc. But it is sometimes incredibly frustrating to go somewhere to hunt and then that store never open. Some also have poor communication where they don't take calls or don't reply SMSes.
So to be honest, I know some people get the thrill out of going to a store, seeing something nice and unexpected as they go out hunting. For me not so much as in general I seldom go shopping. When I set out to shop, I already know what I want and I guess you can say "head there with a purpose". Like yesterday, go hunting those 3 places, end up with nothing.. so sien =_=.. lucky after work when at tesco buying milk powder managed to snag a Beas Hunter Prime that I was looking for hehe.
Actually thanks for your general advice, I wasn't offended till being called a "scalper feeder", not even to kien kienn's "sui yu" remark hehe. For me rm400 was OP and I was just wondering if it was an ok price since I saw on Ebay those 2 deluxes prices are quite high. Now there is a reputable private collector from TransMY that is offering me at a lower price and just waiting to deal.
It is not my intention ot "spoil the market".
