"He's the best young player in European football - I honestly don't see anyone better than him." - BR
Next season Sterling should be wearing no. 11... hopefully he will continue to improve and who knows, he might be as good as the great John Barnes someday.

Defensively we've been struggling against aerial threat especially from crosses and set-pieces. It has been our main defensive weakness for the last few seasons... unfortunately, heading is not quite something that you can teach in training... I guess.

If Everton qualify to UCL and Arsenal wins the FA Cup, team finished 7th in the league (currently MU) will qualify to Europa League, rite? hmm.gif

Lol guess you might be disappointed to learn that his shot was deflected off Michael Turner thus "not pure" tongue.gif

It barely shaved off his butt LOL. In slow mo you can see the ball wobbling tongue.gif Even if it wasn't deflected it looks to be going on the way in smile.gif

poor performance by Johnson and Allen. especially in second half. our defence were not so good. i don't know but they sometimes lack of focus and communication. 1st goal is due to lack of communication between Mignolet and Skrtel.

its good we can win another small margin goals. 3 points matter now. but Sterling is turning to be awesome players. lets hope he doesn't get any injury like Owen

Thought Allen performed quite well ytd. Especially the first half.

Johnson and Lucas were poor, hope they step up their game against Chelsea. Lucas especially, was slow and made unnecessary fouls

Chelsea will probably rest players against us considering they are now dependent on us and City dropping points even if they win against us. Palace and Newcastle have nothing to play for but pride. I would rather have them playing for pride than them fighting for their lives. Doesn't get any better than that, it is now up to the players to finish the job.

QUOTE
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers wants to sign a new deal with the Reds on the condition that he is given more control over player transfers at the club, reports the Daily Mirror. The 41-year old manager believes that he has earned the right to take charge of transfers after taking the club to the cusp of the winning the Premier League title this season.

The Northern Irishman is open to a penning down a new 5-year deal at Anfield, during which he plans to build a new dynasty at the famous club.

Speaking about his future, Rodgers was quoted saying, “It’s one of the leading clubs in the world and I want to be allowed to build and develop the club without interference. I have a great relationship with the owners and, hopefully, we can continue to develop the team. We’ve still got a long way to go, but I’m looking five years ahead. I’m 41, I’ve got many years ahead of me – but there aren’t too many bigger than Liverpool.”

Rodgers also revealed plans of expanding the Anfield stadium, which will help the historic ground accommodate 21,000 more supporters, and he also wishes to attract higher pedigreed players with Champions League football in the bag for next season.

Rodgers currently has just 1 year left on his present deal with Liverpool, and is reportedly on the short-list of many top teams including the likes of FC Barcelona. It would be advisable for the Liverpool board to give him the control he desires as the Northern Irishman has already done wonders at the club.

Will you sign / extend this contract if you are the owner of LFC ?

LOL, when/if we win the BPL, I will unleash the fury of 20+ years of ignominy from the Red Devils. No remorse for Moyes, MU, home wreckers (hint see pic above), rascist people who thinks others are rascist, trolls who think being 4th all the time is an achievement, etc etc icon_rolleyes.gif

I have to agree with Giggs. Cant see them collapsing for now. Well, we need at least 23 years later to see that and judge biggrin.gif

Okay moving on. Tonight is the night ha. City vs Brom. Let's curse Manchester City by all means flex.gif

They can't be forgiven for collapsing the 2nd time again. Some more vs West Brom of all ppl who are somewhat safe from relegation. I'd figure Palace gonna scalp them in the match after this, then Reds will show them how to get a result at Selhurst Park (ala Sunderland).

Current Status if team wins all games :

1. Liverpool - 89 (with win over Chelsea)
2. MCity - 86
3. Chelsea - 81

If Liverpool lose to Chelsea (win the rest) and MC Win all

1. Liverpool or MCity - 86 (down to goal difference)
3. Chelsea - 84

Your scenario (again if Reds win over chelsea)

1. Liverpool 89
2. Mcity - 84 (due to likely better goal difference
3. Chelsea - 81

YOu can calculate from the part on top. Every draw means the team drops 2 points while every lose means drop 3 points. If MCity draws, we can afford one lose which I think they will from either of the 2 coming matches (don't forget Everton at Goodison as well).

That said, why not go for 14th straight to tie the longest winning streak and beat that in the 1st game of the new season with win no. 15 smile.gif

Not quite yet for me. Not until I see a sustained period of success for us and failure for them. 1 bad season is not a collapse for me but certainly was fun to see. biggrin.gif

A repeat of Sunderland please. City to grab an early goal. Somehow West Brom equalises from a set piece followed by Amalfitano putting them in front with another wonder goal out of nowhere. In the last minutes of the game, as Pepe Mel's team always do, concedes a late late equaliser. 2 points dropped for City. rclxms.gif

They are not completely safe from relegation.
Yes, they have 2 games in hand, but are just 3 points off the relegation zone.

They must win as much as possible to ensure safety, which is good for us.
I expect they will fight to the death against City.
