must remove the case, get to the back of the pcb, desolder switches and remove them from current keyboard. then you can use on other keyboards thumbup.gif

What's your MKB? If cheap nvm just buy new one, if possible maybe can search for the controller, just re-solder it and it should works again. icon_rolleyes.gif
Which is why custom is consider as the best MKB, controller die just change controller. brows.gif

Good luck..

if you're talking about using your existing pcb then i think better forget it. hardass job.

if you're talking about getting a new PCB and place the switches in then yeah you can. you'll have extra switches since you're converting from full to 60%.

Don't ever lube blue switches.

It will solve the inconsistency, by muting all the clicking of every single switches...

Better RMA, since it is just one week.

But if you are suspecting it caused by dust getting inside, get some compressed gas and spray into the switches.

I think one of the Geekhack topic suggest NOT to use lube, instead use compress air to blow through it, hope that it can remove some of the dust.
If compress air does not work then have to open up the switch itself.

On a side note, use lube may cover the electrical contact as well, may just spoil the switch if overdose. sweat.gif

Follow the pcb trace, remove the part of pcb you dont want, rewire back on the pcb so that the disconnected pcb part that link the old full pcb are connected. The check connection to controller. In simple term, its hard. Really hard.

or

Desolder the switch from full keyboard, get 60% pcb (someone here can help you get on cheap tongue.gif ), way much simpler job. But usually the final total build price including plate and casing and few other stuff you might add later, its much cheaper to buy brand new 60% keyboard, but not the same satisfaction.
