I agree, the performance is just splendid, can compare to the note 3, no lag at all doing anything from surfing to heavy gaming.

At RM500, I can't really complain about the performance, I much prefer the matte finish, larger battery, and design over the normal a850. For less than RM100 more, you get a SOC twice as powerful, seems like a no brainer for me smile.gif

Exactly. MT6592M should run at 1.4 instead.
*
Mine is also running at 1.66GHz, I think they used the normal 6592 instead of the M version, either way, performance is excellent.

Btw, does the rom has option to change the language to malay, indonesian etc? If it is, then it might be a custom rom based on row rom.
*
Mine says A850+_S118_www.sjrom.cn , got BM also under language. Please stop double posting, just edit your previous post rather than making 2. Forum rules smile.gif

Thanks for the info. As for the posting, I would gladly do that if I'm using a notebook. But with a smartphone it is not that easy. Some advise on that would be welcomed. wink.gif
*
Sorry, no idea what the page looks like on a phone, I'll try figure it out on Monday, when I'm out on my phone. I apologise if it sounded like I was scolding, it was just a friendly reminder biggrin.gif

Thanks for the update bro.

Well, if that is the case I guess we stick with dual-version theory then.

As for the rom, since it comes with many languages including malay and Indonesia, I guess we can safely assume that it is based on row rom.

Any news about the battery life bro?
*
For me, battery life has been unbelievably good, check my 1st post last section for an example. Standby time (just 3g network, no data or wifi on) loses 2% per day, which is amazing. watching movies, definitely can go more than 12 hours on minimum brightness (it's actually higher than the phone's default minimum brightness) using MX player.

If you are a light user, I think only need to charge every 4-5 days. If never use, I'm sure 1 month also can last on standby

Never thought the battery life can be so amazing off a 2500mAh and a 5.5'' screen +8-core rclxm9.gif

this phone can fit note3 casing?? same size with note3 meh?
*
Can, see my 1st post, it fits 95% perfectly, only a few ports and buttons the alignment is off slightly.

Edit: as for battery life, I was gaming for 2 hours straight today, playing Pivvot (yes, it's spelled with 2 v's), battery went down to 2/3 and screen was at 1/2 brightness.

Is the graphics in that game comparable to CoC or heavier? How about the temperature of the phone?
*
Graphics are lower, but I checked in BBS and it showed the CPU was running at 1.6GHz nearly the whole time, no idea how many cores, but I know the game is quite intensive. My friend MT6589 phone lags slightly even on medium settings, mine can run max no problem

QUOTE(stalkerrox @ Apr 22 2014, 10:57 PM)

but speaker sure covered lor rite?

Yeah, speaker, headphone and camera flash covered, but you see the pics, I already drilled speaker holes, headphone one I cut the casing, camera flash I haven't do yet, trying to figure out the best way to make the opening smile.gif

Hi!

Have you root your phone? I'm asking about this because the main concern is that it comes only with 4GB ROM so cannot store so much content. If root can install apps on sd card much more easier. Anyone can help bout this  icon_question.gif

For me this phone is really cheap for the money you spent with those hardwares. Just that the small storage make it somewhat flawed  doh.gif
*
Storage is no problem for me (phone is rooted), I just use this app: link . Can link any 2 folders, so for example GTA San Andreas is 2.5GB, the obb file is nearly 2.5GB, so I put that on my microsd, link it, and the phone thinks it's on the internal memory. The only thing that is actually on the internal is the app itself, which is just a few MB. Tried out the other method of moving apps to the microsd using link2sd, but hated it because of the wasted space since an extra partition has to be created

QUOTE(nakTT @ Apr 24 2014, 11:54 AM)
You mean the game you played demand less graphic power compared to CoC?
*
Hard to compare, 2 different types of games, but I would say about the same. But I think gaming should be good for at least 4 hours, unless you are playing GTA

Mine is also the same thing, no idea if custom or not, seems like no difference to me, but I already added a CWM recovery so can do backups and mess around even more smile.gif

GPS works fine, use it to navigate with Sygic since I don't have data

hello, a850+ can support sandisk 32gb micro sdhc ?

http://www.sandisk.com/products/memory-car...10-for-android/

sandisk or kingston is better?
*
I'm using a Sandisk Extreme 32GB Class 10 in my A850+, no problem at all. Both brands are good, but I personally prefer Sandisk for their memory cards since they have a ton of experience in the field (like DSLR CF cards)

Is the A850+ with dual SIM right?
What is the size of both SIM card? - Standard or Micro SIM ?
*
Yeah, dual SIM, it's the standard size one, not the tiny one.

A850+ a tutu is better than s4,
Of coz it can't match latest branded android devices, but can it run smoothly on max setting?
Currently ipad3 bit lagging while playing modern combat 4. Looking for portable devices to handle these games, like upcoming modern combat5

Any idea???
*
I have both phones, RR3 runs the same on both the note 3 and a850+, perfectly smooth. In fact, I haven't come across a single game that even lags at all on the phone. I can't comment about MC4 because I think FPS is so impossible to play on a touchscreen.

Asphalt 8 is retarded, the graphics settings are grayed out for medium and high, some build.prop model detection and GPU ID detection. Tried an app to fake the info to unlock the settings but it didn't work. Gave up on the game since RR3 is just so much better than Asphalt. 2x the number of cars, and like 20x the number of tracks. Graphics and physics are on a whole different level, even compared to GT Racing 2 (gameloft's realistic driving game) If you are a racing enthusiast I highly recommend you try RR3 instead of Asphalt 8!

My A850+ from directd running S118 also has that Clear Motion feature. Has anyone else here encountered the stupid auto brightness extremely bright minimum brightness? If it's on auto, and you go into a dark room, the minimum is still way too bright, and if you use the status bar toggles, the minimum is still the same as the auto-brightness minimum...However, if you use the power widget, the minimum there can go much lower.

i click the change of storage to SD card, the below message displayed "if you select the SD storage, the applications that install in USB storage cannot be used....."

if i do that, what will be the problem ? after clicked, can i change it back ?
*
Yeah, you can change it back after that. What that message means that as long as the drives are mounted, the apps that are installed onto your SD card won't be able to run, since they are mounted for your computer via UMS. If you want to continue using your apps properly while still connected to the computer, use MTP mode instead.

Hi All,

May I ask why suddenly my phone can't find/read my music files on the sd card ? My ringtone & alarm files from the sd card can't be used anymore.

I am having a850+_s118_www.sjrom.cn rom .
Please help.
Thanks
*
Did you mess around with the media scanner? try doing this:

1. Go to settings> apps> media scanner/storage, click clear data
2. Restart phone
3. Wait 15 minutes
4. Restart again

your ringtones and music files should be visible after doing this.

Hi all,

A little bit of updates with my a850+ problems.

1. The music files from the sd card is working again after I rescan the card using the ttpod player.

2. The camera now is storing/capturing pictures again after i have change the settings/systems/storage to external storage.

Thanks Ashwin for your help too.
*
No problem biggrin.gif , aways glad to help. Sometimes the media scanner gets messed up by itself and holds crazy wakelocks, which was a problem I had on my S2. 6 hours phone in standby, and like 5 hours 30 mins awake because of media scanner, then when I tried clearing data the same problem like yours came up, no music or pics detected.

My phone came back from service centre 2 days back with the same S118 rom. Installed CWM and updated it to S119 lenovohome.net Rom from here S119 ROM . It's much lighter and stable, after 2 days of usage comparing to s118 original rom. The rom doesn't have SecureIT and powermanger and prerooted, but has some Chinese apps integrated than, but all can be removed.

Although it shows as new update is avalaible (S124), somehow it fails to update, as it says some error with Ro.build.product=A850P not found although when I checked in build.prob it shows as A850+ and A850P.

So far So good
*
I already updated mine to a modded S124, same like yours also, no power manager and SecureIT, this time, I did a full wipe and used the option to install to sdcard. Turns out the phone flips the partition of the internal and external, so now it thinks my internal is my 32gb card. AWESOME!

Any bug? Please test for one week then review here biggrin.gif

Like... The Caller ID thing...

If everything is fine, I might update to that. S118 not so stable.
*
Sure thing, I got the ROM from here: link. So far the only bug (that's not really a bug) is the wifi hotspot option causes a FC (force close) in settings because the guy removed the app, so just get a 3rd party app from the store and use that instead.

Reboot option doesn't work(just shuts off and doesn't come back on), same thing with the shutdown if the fast bootup option is ticked(it doesn't boot). So have to shutdown and then turn on manually.

I seem to have messed up my IMEI along the way, possibly because I did a full wipe in the flashing program. My phone now says invalid IMEI, but I can make and receive calls and sms'es no problem, so I don't really care.

Other than that, the phone is lightning fast and ultra smooth. I will have to check about the caller ID bug

QUOTE(nakTT @ May 31 2014, 11:23 AM)
Guys, how is the battery life so far? Considering that we have quite a few user in this thread, the battery life figure should be more statistically significance compared to last time.
*
Still really good, I can go about 8-10 hours screen on time with mixed web surfing, gaming and YouTube. This is with around 2 hours of bluetooth music streming and wifi on the whole way (I don't have data)

No prob, FC= Force close. The message you get when an app crashes or becomes non-responsive.

Edit: woops, someone beat me to explaining tongue.gif
