antutu benchmark is good.. real life hands on experience is it as smooth? does the 1gb ram make it lag at certain point?

yest just bought this baby for my 2nd line aka office line..

very very good performance for rm 500 phone..
no lag at all whatsoever..
previously got use A850 feels laggy but this 1 no lag at all even running stock lenovo launcher

I can tell you that it is as smooth as A850, at least. Which is to say that it is very smooth in real world usage. But I guess it would be wise to wait for the price to come down to a more reasonable range before deciding on getting one. For me, the main selling point over A850 would be its better SoC and bigger battery. I'm sure quite a few people here would welcome a bigger and removable battery as most of us wouldn't really feel like to lug around big power bank, would we?

I agree, the performance is just splendid, can compare to the note 3, no lag at all doing anything from surfing to heavy gaming.

At RM500, I can't really complain about the performance, I much prefer the matte finish, larger battery, and design over the normal a850. For less than RM100 more, you get a SOC twice as powerful, seems like a no brainer for me

Exactly. MT6592M should run at 1.4 instead.

Mine is also running at 1.66GHz, I think they used the normal 6592 instead of the M version, either way, performance is excellent.

How is the temperature at the back when playing game like CoC (I don't play racing or FPS game). How is the battery life in that kind of usage? Hope you could share some feedback. Thank you in advance.

Now that we have two non-M users of A850+, thus proved that it isn't a fluke. I think it is now safe to say that this model indeed has a non-M version.

but for CoC is smooth only slightly hot at the back..

Btw, I prefer to play CoC on phone as it is easier to carry around so I can login to the game whenever possible. However I have to admit playing on tablet is better because of a bigger screen.

i can say for a budget rm 500 phone nothing can beat it.. totally different league from the normal A850
even my VibeZ i just sold few days back was laggy..
i think due to the china/english hybrid rom...

You mean you get this custom rom right out of the box? If it is, then it raised a suspicion that it might be an MT6592M but ove clocked to run at the speed that you get.

Btw, does the rom has option to change the language to malay, indonesian etc? If it is, then it might be a custom rom based on row rom.

but when he scrolls down at 6:44 u can see its still 1.64 GHZ

but his antutu scores was 1000 lower

no wonder i see some ppl getting 27k and some 28k

i just found out in antutu mine says MKT MT6592M
but in CPU-Z just MT6592 so i have no idea what is going on hahaha
could be either software never update so dont know which is more accurate

Well, if that is the case I guess we stick with dual-version theory then.

As for the rom, since it comes with many languages including malay and Indonesia, I guess we can safely assume that it is based on row rom.

as for battery life i think need few days only can know..

but just to let u know my office line doesnt have 3G so with data off
my phone didnt get to full charge as i had to leave house at 6.30AM yest
was around 70% i did use it for playing around when i had wifi some CoC and download some ringtones and playstore and surf net

i came back this morning around 6AM to charge my phone it still had 20+%

mean i used it for around 24 hours only drain 50% but this is without data only wifi
let me try it for few working days and see how it goes

For me, battery life has been unbelievably good, check my 1st post last section for an example. Standby time (just 3g network, no data or wifi on) loses 2% per day, which is amazing. watching movies, definitely can go more than 12 hours on minimum brightness (it's actually higher than the phone's default minimum brightness) using MX player.

If you are a light user, I think only need to charge every 4-5 days. If never use, I'm sure 1 month also can last on standby

Never thought the battery life can be so amazing off a 2500mAh and a 5.5'' screen +8-core

interested to get this phone. u guys bought ap set rite? wont be a problem to get ap set? so, hows the overall performance as of now? but i think 5.5inch is quite too big for me. still thinking.

i've used it for 36 hours already and im still on 64%
with some light surfing playstore surfing and messing around with settings
and some light CoC on my noob account
full wifi no 3g data

i would rather prefer AP as its cheaper and easier to do warranty and 24 months..

5.5 inch nowadays is like the average

dont know about u guys but i feel that 6" is just nice for phone screen nowadays..

why would u want to see such a small phone screen if u want to game or surf net etc..

just my personal preference...

and my A850+ has antutu score of 28k which cost rm 499

S930 is nice i love the dual front speakers
but i sold after 1 month
but too bad thats the only thing i miss... if S939 was dual front speakers than it would be nice too bad its not..
cause i feel the MKT 1.3 quad core is fast enough but 1gb ram is not enough..

but for the octacore doesnt feel too much memory hungry

Yes, using A850 and the battery life is great. That is why I'm a bit hesitate to get A850+ for fear that the battery life is not the same. And to top it off, I am totally satisfy with my A850 and never face any issue. The only reason for me to consider getting A850+ is because of the spec, the look and the size (i.e slightly thinner bezel).

display is actually good for a rm 4xx phone
i can guarantee you u cant find any other phone as fast or good screen as this A850+


1 problem i just found out from this phone was just now...
the display at sunlight totally crap
cant see a single thing
brightness not high enough
so those who use it outdoors alot do try first before buying

after 3 days of usage my battery is now at 54%

1 reason could be cause im only using 1 sim so it doesnt need much juice to run only 1 sim

If you like mid-size phone, then S650 is for you. Infact I own one.

Recently i kind of developed a hobby of buying cheap lenovo phone. First was S890, then A850, after that A516, and then S650. Right now considering S660 and A850+. So you can ask my opinion about the phone.

Haha quite a few, I would say. Well, for big screen I would say A850. For small screen obviously S650. Personally, I wouldn't go to Xiaomi as I don't see anything special with it.

Can, see my 1st post, it fits 95% perfectly, only a few ports and buttons the alignment is off slightly.

Edit: as for battery life, I was gaming for 2 hours straight today, playing Pivvot (yes, it's spelled with 2 v's), battery went down to 2/3 and screen was at 1/2 brightness.

Graphics are lower, but I checked in BBS and it showed the CPU was running at 1.6GHz nearly the whole time, no idea how many cores, but I know the game is quite intensive. My friend MT6589 phone lags slightly even on medium settings, mine can run max no problem

Yeah, speaker, headphone and camera flash covered, but you see the pics, I already drilled speaker holes, headphone one I cut the casing, camera flash I haven't do yet, trying to figure out the best way to make the opening

I have been using A850+ more than a week, the battery life can last about 6 ~ 7 hours SOT with WIFI surfing and auto brightness.

Have you root your phone? I'm asking about this because the main concern is that it comes only with 4GB ROM so cannot store so much content. If root can install apps on sd card much more easier. Anyone can help bout this

For me this phone is really cheap for the money you spent with those hardwares. Just that the small storage make it somewhat flawed

Storage is no problem for me (phone is rooted), I just use this app: link . Can link any 2 folders, so for example GTA San Andreas is 2.5GB, the obb file is nearly 2.5GB, so I put that on my microsd, link it, and the phone thinks it's on the internal memory. The only thing that is actually on the internal is the app itself, which is just a few MB. Tried out the other method of moving apps to the microsd using link2sd, but hated it because of the wasted space since an extra partition has to be created

Hard to compare, 2 different types of games, but I would say about the same. But I think gaming should be good for at least 4 hours, unless you are playing GTA
