QUOTE(reign226 @ May 30 2014, 08:27 AM) Yes agree, unless you take bus, then the jam maybe increase your commute time 10-15 mins at most. Nowadays bikers need to do 100% full inspection hence 90% of the road being taken up by bikes. Cars have to open the opposite lane road and only one lane of car, its crazy. Good luck to all those who bought into the 'Iskandar Dream', if they can't solve (or rather, not incentivized to solve) the traffic jam issues, you will see many people pulling their cash out of the stratospheric property market at Iskander very fast. I find it funny how some property developers still advertise "5 mins away from Tuas Checkpoint" when in reality it takes 2 hours to clear that checkpoint. that's a win-win situation for Sg.

QUOTE(reign226 @ Jun 6 2014, 04:17 PM) I'm also interested to learn more, seems like banking sector in Sg attracts the cream of the crop, while engineering is where those who cannot make it in banking go to. I certainly is in this cmi group. Don't say $100k, $50k also is a struggle.

I know work in Sg pay tax in Sg, no need pay Malaysia to avoid double taxation, but will we get the benefit that the taxpayer here get? Like can buy low-cost house, property, car etc etc? since when buying car and house is benefits ?

QUOTE(gnc88 @ Jun 12 2014, 12:10 AM) To be frank, if you're applying though Job sites, you will need paper qualifications to add weight. HR won't know your experience before talking to you. Hence, paper qualification is the first "impression". I came to S'pore in 2007. Worked as an engineer in the manufacturing industry - $30k/yr. Along the way, I earned my MBA and now pursuing another Masters. My new paper quals allowed me to move into another sector and now I'm doing well for my age bracket - early 30s. On a side note, my MBA also earned me my life partner but there is still hope for rest of us. Heard a forumer here graduated from high school with just STPM, but drawing s$3.5k salary. frequently travel for business trips as well. Someone that I could look upon as an idol.
