Today even the very top talents are seriously considering relocating to SG due to its political stability (unlike hk), its world class infra, transparency, efficiency and great living standards.

Long live father Singapore notworthy.gif . Yeap, seeing applicants with ivy league degree now, not oxbridge or harvard, but the among the front row, NUS also need to step aside, foresee my retrenchment really soon cry.gif . Previously those people are coming here as expat relocating from their European palace.

That said, Singapore don't prefer only atas Blue Mountain coffee served in 5 stars hotel with gold plated porcelain ware, some still drink their Starbucks, Nespresso, kopitiam, 3-in-1 etc etc. Just find the compatible buyer and you would have a deal. Even coffee from cat poop also highly sought after shocking.gif .

just my point of view

y company look at ur university first?
1. the company don't know u, how they know ur work performance, ethics and experiences(everything inside resume can be fake)
2. from the university degree/master at least they know u have something

experience + graduate + professional cert > experience + graduate > experience + professional cert

that y ur parents always telling + funding u to study hard to get a degree/master

graduate  is not a must but it always better than non-graduate
*
thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif . The only people that won't scam you in this world are your parents, ask you study good is only want you to have a better life.

Just slot in my view, an admin officer in a small local bank here, small pawn compare to the big bosses here.

It very much depend on whether the interviewer buy your story or not. You have to sync with his/her frequency and resonate with them. Different company different criteria different demand, see my coffee post previous page. However, most of the people in MNC picked up similar books so basically yeap, good degree speaks louder. Ethics and work performance hmm, you are assuming those with good degree don't have those? Just good in study in school yes? Mug some pass year papers, book smart can do already.

Niway, good luck thumbup.gif .

I am in the accounts industry. Worked as an auditor, accountant, budget specialist, SAP based. But unfortunately still below 12k

So, is it still easy to apply directly to Singapore for account jobs?

I heard they put some restrictions lately.
*
You guys got it all wrong. Bapa singapore would be so sad. Gahmen actually implement that policy to help foreigner. With Sg topping the most expensive city in the world, gahmen is pushing min salary 12k for foreigner in the long run. Sg not like Malaysia favour one particular party, not because some group can't get job then new policy to protect them. Sg fair for all, who able who get. Long live Sg founding father.

So for your question, put expected salary 12.001k so you no need wait for the local applicant period.

wrong
for a tenancy agreement to conclude, there are 4 parties....owner, owner's agent, tenant and tenant's agent
meaning you pay your agent...they pay their agent
on top of that, why can't they be picky?
owners have their right to protect their investment
if during viewing, you give out the impression of being a complete sloth, owner may decide against renting it to you in view of the future.
*
Sack the agent. Normally landlord will state the criteria, discriminative skin colour included and that is perfectly fine. Good one won't bring anything below the criteria. Those desperate will waste both sides' time by bringing anyone there and hopefully there would be a deal.

Bad... here not MY biasa lah, tak apa lah, the salary you looking at even at 6k 8k don't tolerate those kind of attitude. As an employee, you should not give your boss any trouble. SOP, finish your job a day before the deadline, so your boss will have plenty of time going through your work, before his deadline to his boss or client are up.

LTA should really ban cyclists going on the road. Scratched my car at Raffles then run away without stopping, point finger some more. Dumb enough to do that wearing his sport tshirt with name and company behind his back. Went to TP, file a report with car camera and whack the guy up and down with option to civil suit or settle until satisfied. Power of free legal service from office.
*
The ang moh think you cannot do anything to him. The rich always bully the poor, but bow to richer people. That lawyer letter costed us 2k what free. Lucky for you the boss like to spend this kind of money getting people pay for what they did.

LTA and TP need to come out with regulation fast. SG always reactive, when enough amount of people die, then new regulations start to kick in.

Then the Filipino maids stare at him wierd wierd, ignored him, he walk away disappointed, his head down. Then the maids all laughed aloud.

Bullish market, expect big year end bonus coming. I work 2 jobs, and got a 3rd job recently. Cook my meals, travel back to Malaysia, stay and eat at my parents' place during the weekends to save cost. All this to pay for COE, ABSD, installments for my tenants so they can have a comfy place to stay. If got extra money left, go back Malaysia jack up the property price, push the inflation high so the local would suffer and less attractive to go back for our own.

Downhill from 6 months to 4-5 months lo. Newspapers trying to make other industries think finally now the justice is done to the finance industry people now. No more Swiss Alps skiing for you guys, only can afford private ski resort in South Korea now.

All full time, one required me to sit in the office surfing net during working hours. Others just phone calls and emails, outsourcing most of my desk jobs to others, and meeting with the bosses after working hours.

Hi all, I'm planning to immigrate to Singapore with my wife and from what I read so far the process should be like
1. Find a job and get a work permit.
2. Apply dependent's visa for my wife.
3. Apply for PR.

Is that correct? Anything I miss?

By the way, I have more than 10 years of working experience in software development and wondering if IT job market is good there?
*
Yes, that is the normal path under technical scheme. Got other investor's scheme and entrepreneur's scheme if you belong to those group, can get PR faster under those 2 schemes.

Working in SG can go back MY weekly, see see parents, leech their food and accommodation, spend RM rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif act like queen, until people bring a gun and rob you.

Actually growing old in SG is better than MY, in terms of security, healthcare and ah pek wheel chair friendly facilities. All those come with a price though. Earn you dough in this 30-40 years then pay it all back to the society when you grow old sweat.gif .

Yes, that's what we are thinking too. Can easily go back to visit parents when we wants.
And that part about gun and robbing is the main reason we plan to immigrate. The crime rate here has deteriorate steadily every year...
*
Same same me and hubby stay SG also because of nearer to family. If want money overseas are much better. SG safety also degraded if you want to be picky, compare to 10 years ago.

Try come here and experience the local's pro and cons before decide to "immigrate" or not. Not gold every where in SG.
