QUOTE(siv 007 @ Apr 25 2014, 12:50 AM) Guys, i just bought used MSI R9 280X TF. One thing that bother me is the temperature. On idle is about 45C, while on full load about 82-87C + im not sure. I thought Twin Frozr should be running cool than the reference. That is quite high, did you get an ex-mining card with worn out fans and thermal grease?Does my card faulty? And what is the normal-safe range temperature for R280X? |

QUOTE(devillightning1 @ Apr 27 2014, 12:05 PM) Bf4 I got stuck at like between 120-130 fps max lol, even at low settings wtf. Oh and I think my pc is not using the 8gb ram, only using pagefile. I disabled pagefile and try to run crysis 3 and crash immediately lol Something is wrong with your system/window mang, i get similar fps at low setting on 64 player server with Mantle and i can play Crysis 3 just fine with 8GB+pagefile disabled. Did you check if your proc clocked properly when gaming? did it throttled down? Or "something" is running on background and sucking up all those processor juice. You can use RAMMap to check which file got cached by windoze. |

Feeling the heat from Vesuvius?
QUOTE TITAN Z was supposedly going to be released on April 29th, but according to SweClockers plans have changed. The only question is, why? NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN Z launch postponed because it was slower than R9 295X2? Before we get into details, let me just make it clear, that the following clocks speeds are not final. Some etailers already listed TITAN Z with product specs, and their data seem to confirm it (check below). ![]() As soon as I learned the clock speeds of TITAN Z, I was quite surprised. Those clock speeds would not make TITAN Z competitive against R9 295X2. We would be looking at 180MHz frequency drop compared to original 780 TI. Unless the cooling system would be efficient enough, the boost clock of 730 MHz would not make this card any faster. Leaked listing reports on TITAN Z with 6GHz memory modules. However official source GeForce.com does report on 7GHz. At least the memory size is where TITAN Z really shines. No gaming card has ever featured 12 GB frame buffer. Of course this is the total buffer for both GPUs, so very few applications will benefit from this. Upcoming DirectX 12 will most likely provide some improvements in memory affinity, and TITAN Z is theoretically compatible with the new API (actually it’s even listed with DX12 support). Sauce: NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN Z launch postponed |

QUOTE(devillightning1 @ Apr 29 2014, 05:19 PM) Funny...is Nvidia marketing the Titan Z as a professional card or gaming card? If professional card, why scared of R9 295X2? You be the judge. QUOTE(terradrive @ Apr 30 2014, 12:48 AM) Did you try the MP?QUOTE(graphidz @ Apr 30 2014, 01:03 AM) reading you guys results on the UE4 demo, felt excited to try it out too. wanna know what tool di you guys used to benchmark? You can Fraps. I use RadeonPro benchmark(basically free Fraps). I use Elemental demo, which one u used?also what settings did you guys set in the config or console? tried to use fraps (i know there's a warning at the start) and it showed i got avg 90 when i'm only using a single 7970 Btw you need to set the resolution to 1920x1080 and Fullscreenmode=0 I get much crappier frametime with OC GPU, kinda expected with an engine that use CPU physics.
![]()
![]() I wonder if it use GPU Phsyx on Nvidia side since UE4 engine natively support GPU Physx. |

QUOTE(graphidz @ Apr 30 2014, 10:42 AM) Acid_RuleZz How to activate demo FPS counter? MSI Afterburner reported similar FPS compare to RadeonPro. Hmm... can you guide me on this. I'm not familiar with the tools you use and this is more or less a "video" instead of a benchmark "program" set the config file to 1920 and 1080 and full screen to 0. rest no change open the 64bit file at the start of the video, i press F9 to benchmark(radeon pro tool). then press again when the video shows the UE4 logo. grabbed the csv file and drag into fraps bench viewer the result : ![]() » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « too high don't you think? (specs in the siggy)everything was unchanged except for the resolution change and fullscreen. wonder where i did wrong? UPDATE : using the in-demo FPS tool, the FPS counter stayed around 40-45 until the dude stands up. then the counter was 35-40. then when outside that "dungeon" and the video views the iceman, the counter was 20-30. can't trust fraps? |

QUOTE(devillightning1 @ Apr 30 2014, 11:52 PM) Im starting to think my CPU is faulty. Im getting like 60% CPU usage on Hitman Absolution Benchmark with abysmal FPS, just manage to stay above 70 FPS. And Battlefield 4 like constant 90%+ CPU usage on DX11 and only 48p at max. Should I do RMA ah? Though I think i'm the only rFactor 2 player in this thread but i don't effing care coz this is related to AMD.
The latest 14.4 WHQL driver just fixed the performance of rFactor 2 for AMD card. I gained 2x fps compare to older 14.1 driver and the frametime with the new driver is effffinnnng sweeeet.
