just push it to its limits on stock voltage first. then see how it goes if you want more juice for your graphical demands

Highest recommend clocks for stock voltages? I would only know if it does crash right, at its limit??

just throw in 200MHz at start then see if it crashes after Unigine or 3D stress software

if it does, then slowly throttle by 5-10MHz down per test (rinse repeat) until you reached a point where it doesnt insta BSOD or CTD

then test it on that clock speed with games or the benchmark software for 12-24hrs to make sure its stable (skip this if you dont feel like doing it, i do sometimes tongue.gif)

sometimes, games can run on the super high clock speed while insta CTD during benchmark or vice versa. dont fret, its normal

just reach to the threshold where GPU-Z tells you voltage is the limiting factor. then only you decide whether mau pump extra anot nod.gif

Okay boss! Thanks for the steps.

if use the MSI custom fan will get super lough.....and boot to 70-80% fan speed.....will this damage the fan cooler?
*
It's not even 100% i think it will do fine. Thats the main issue with stock coolers is the noise, but its a small sacrifice if you wanna keep your card cool.

Stock voltages i cannot go above 1300Mhz Memory and 1150Mhz Clocks. Any higher and i lose stability and crash.

then another 3 month wait for GPU waterblock? laugh.gif

QUOTE(Minecrafter @ Oct 17 2014, 09:00 PM)
Then after that, how long will the waterblock travel? tongue.gif
LOL! laugh.gif

Everyone knows my GPU block woes. sweat.gif sweat.gif

Don't curse me please. If another three months I'm gonna hunt you both down haha.

But on retrospect it was worth the wait. 51c max load temps in a 32c fan only room with bad ventilation. Me rike.

And is 1150/1400 good on stock voltages? Don't dare to push more or DirectX will either fail me or straight BSOD.

1150 at stock is pretty good, you never try overvolt?

So i just try to push as far as i can go on stock voltages and thats it.

1150/1400 sounds good though i think you can push memory more hmm.gif

doh.gif Yeah, woes of buying WBs from germany. sheesh. HAHA

Dont dare lol, im not sure whether it was core at 1200 that cause the crash or the memory at 1450.

I think mine has coil whine if I play BF4 1440P Ultra for longer than 4 hours. Shorter than that and it makes no noise. But I'm also suspecting the PSU or Mobo so I'm not sure. Sigh.

haiz i already make a promise to myself if the r9 390x is no more 40% better than 290/290x, i will skip the upgrade.. but it is 45% better than 980...  shocking.gif  rclxm9.gif  sweat.gif  cry.gif

My exact thoughts. I thought can hold till maybe 2016 with my current setup. But nooooooo, see benchmark and that itch suddenly comes to haunt me.

Time to start saving. Dual 390X inkambing..
