Uniqlo uses Kaihara denim which they claim to use only the best Pima cotton around.
Brands like Baldwin and Evisu uses Kaihara and for Uniqlo's price of RM150, I feel it is a really good buy.
If you want to wait for Uniqlo to slash it's price, you will be able to get it at the RM100-RM130 price range.

As for H&M, they use to have selvedged denim which I bought during their sale last year for RM99.
Pretty alright but I do not know where the material comes from and the detail of construction is no where near Uniqlo's.

U can try ceremony or tarik jeans. All are made in malaysia.

In regards to MIC, I used to own their MIJ jeans a number of years back and there is hardly any difference in terms of built.
There's a ton of factories in China, both good and bad. MIC doesn't mean an item is going to be shit.

The details like chain hem stitching are all proper on the MIC. Fabric wise, the MIJ one blew out on the crotch after 6 months of wear and my H&M one is still going strong like it could take a bloody beating and refuses to even die so I can buy a new pair. By the way, the H&M pair is MIC.

Hope my link helped. I don't even know why uniqlo used spandex in their jeans. Smh. Maybe their stats says that it sells well and they are capitalizing on it or simply maybe the spandex one is slim fit and they wanted people to wear it comfortably without suffocating their manhood.

As for the make, I believe they are pretty much the same (because it is just mostly sewing) and it only comes in a regular cut. Fabrication is still coming from Kaihara Mills so it is pretty decent.

But nothing else matters when it is only priced at RM70 after sale. Everything about it now is gold.

I just copped this Levi's 511 MIJ Selvedge

I was minding my own business, and saw Levi's as I was walking past, and reckoned my current pair of jeans has sufficient fade, and wanted a more slim/tapered leg, so went in and have a look.

Look at the RRP in Japan. And guess how much I copped it for?



Not too bad. I checked the SKU, its the correct one. I so did not intend to buy jeans. But what the hell
