leg twist is part of raw denim/selvedge is part of the allure. some people desire that look for the fades.

if you dont fancy it, try broken twill denim. left hand twill will also counter the leg twist if im not mistaken.
selvedge denim can also be source from countries like bangladdesh. lower production cost plus lower source cotton (non-zimbabwe cotton or non-texas cotton) can also produce cheap selvedge denim.

higher prices for jap denims is because of their source of cotton (zimbabwe being the best) plus the skill of the workers in the japanese mills contribute to more expensive but higher quality denims.

never had that severe leg twist. are you wearing lose cut or tight?

I just bought a pair of raw jeans and any tips to stop it from bleeding the blue dye on my shoes?

Was in Levi's The Gardens, they were selling selvedge denim. But unfortunately all of them are straight / regular cut. It had the 'Made in Japan' word in the tag, but doesn't mean that all tag with 'Made in Japan' was selvedge.

Unlike my other uniqlo pants, the zippers are pretty rough. Doesn't go smoothly all the way to the top. Protip: zip your pants first, then button it.
Planning to give it a quick warm soak after 2 weeks, just to shrink it a bit more, and then decide if wanna alter or not.
I'm not really a hardcore jeans enthusiast, so I'm gonna wash it after about a month or so. Gonna post some pics after the proper wash if you guys are interested.

I didnt really measure the jeans prior to the soak, but I can confirm that it's shorter after the soak. Cos my heels dont step on the jeans anymore, and I only have to single cuff rather than double cuff to make the jeans rest nicely on my shoes.

haven't seen MIJ levi's in the flesh before. need to dig up some info on it.

But before this, they sell LVC which are the MIA 501 jeans.

The pure blue series is much better, but too bad super limited

last time, when i first searching for lower end selvedge jeans, end up buying in Burton menswear ,feel the quality and the cutting at this pricing was quite nice. was the brand good -how do you guys think?

I dont mind but then again for me selvedge denim is one of the sought after denim. Its the cherry on the icing cake.
Yes a good denim is about the cut and fabric but i do believe selvedge is a better fabric than projectile loom denim fabric.
If u put up just denim in general all sort of denim will flooded the thread and it beat the purpose of having the discussion on raw and selvedge denim. Of course people will confuse however as long as we as the poster of this thread explain about the differences regrading the raw and selvedge denim it'll be ok i guess.
Anyways for selvedge and raw denim they got their own cult here in malaysia and i mean its big.
So yeah if other people need to know denim in general we can provide information for it, however i like it to retain the raw and selvedge denim because its kindda different from ur regular denim.

Seem like my first selvedge attempt was not so ideal, haha, I did survey for the uniqlo before, good fabric but the cutting not so fit me, probably because I'm too slim. Yes, I think was not raw also, but the material and cutting feel nice so I choose to adopt it, as not much I can find in pen. next time will acquire better one once I have the budget, thanks for the comment  given

Can I wait a bit further?I heard a method which is keep the smelly jeans in the freezer to eliminates the odor and kills the bacteria.Reason why i dont want to wash to qyick is becaudr scare fading not nice when washed.

Just to share, I went to Levi's KLCC new outlet. Was really impressed of the LVCs brought in.

the LVCs were from the 40's to 70's. each having their own distinct identities of their years. Even saw a 501Z = 501 with a zipper fly!

I also chatted with the sales person there. He mention this guy, Yosuke, was in store. After googling who is this guy, apparently he is some famous Levi's super fan.
