QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Jun 19 2014, 03:24 PM) EIGEM performing well for me lately The only underperformer lately is AmDynamite, even RHB-OSK EM Bond is performing. IMHO u need a large cap Malaysia/Asia ex Japan fund...my exposure is thru HwangIM's award-winner Hwang Select Opportunity (NOT Select Asia ex Japan Opportunity). Why not try Pheim funds? Pheim manages my company's investment fund...their performance is commendable. Eh, u copy my portfolio ar? Fund all same as mine I not a hardcore as you lar bro. Still keep track of funds and do comparison. Doing this with stocks are way easier. Hwang Select Opportunity 60%+ in Malaysia, better to invest directly in the market myself. HK portion only 8%+- Thinking whether I should increase my existing portfolio size or ADD 1 more fund.

Looking at Hwang Select Opportunity. But considering the high valuation in our local market, buying in at the moment would not be a wise thing to do...

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Jul 1 2014, 11:37 AM) My US+Europe+Japan exposure at 33%, at higher end of my target already. Furthermore, US and Europe has been fairly resilient lately while China+HK+Singapore going sideways, time to increase Asia exposure... What's your HK/China exposure? My US+Europe stands around 37%, with Malaysia at 19% due to the high Malaysia exposure from HSAQ.

QUOTE(David83 @ Jul 8 2014, 07:14 PM) Mine also pretty good since July last year. As of yesterday NAV, ROI: 9.83%, IRR: 10.22% HSAQ alone? Mine at 15% ROI. Not around my laptop to calculate IRR.

QUOTE(David83 @ Jul 8 2014, 07:31 PM) Yes HSAQ alone. I don't have HSAO or HSO Same here. Not the right time to enter with such high valuation. My 2 cents. Just sitting around with most of my funds in CMF. Speaking of CMF, moving forward if they raise the interest rate, we should see a higher return from CMF effective immediately as well I reckon? QUOTE(David83 @ Jul 8 2014, 09:16 PM) You're lucky because we're still in the bull market; more specifically tail of the bull. Correct. We shall see for the next 2 days whether KLCI hit 1900 mark. If yes; everyone should be on a full alert..

QUOTE(David83 @ Jul 8 2014, 09:24 PM) But some analyst has raised target of KLCI to hit 194X right? Somebody posted this. All the houses have different KLCI target. Must find a realistic one as reference. Some are even looking above the 2k mark.

QUOTE(David83 @ Jul 8 2014, 09:30 PM) 2000 is not realistic but 1940 could be achievable provided that there're still ongoing stimulus either domestically or internationally. Spot on. Locally we need some catalyst.. Of course I wish the bull to last a bit longer before I dispose off my holdings.. We'll see..

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Jul 12 2014, 09:56 AM) Rooland equities good for pure yield play lor...in Asia Pac region theirs have one of the highest divvy yields (ignoring forex movements). Currently none of my funds have exposure to Rooland So, wongseafood, what u reckon should we do? Just hold on and do nothing? I've not been topping up on my UTs for some time already...on the contrary been selling some useless funds (yea, its THAT AmDynamite) and moving money to REITs, CMMT and UOAREIT for yield play...yeah, cold hard cash rules So what's your bond:equity %? I dumped half of my AmDynamic lately, leaving to around 35:65. Thinking if I should go 100% equity since you all have been complaining AmDynamic for so long

QUOTE(cherroy @ Jul 13 2014, 11:10 AM) When interest rate environment is heading up, bond is not a place one wants to be. Generally, bond is moving inverse direction with interest rate. True. But once again with the current valuation of the local market, when it crash (when it crash...) people would like to go back to bond too right? Or some to FDs...

Ben, if crash I'll probably top up more equity. Not bonds..
PS, you're saying support right? Meaning it's not improving.. I'm still very heavy with stocks now. Taking the risk to not liquidate them now. Have to lock in profit at one point (hopefully end of this year).

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Jul 14 2014, 09:43 AM) Germany is World Cup champions but they don't win every matches. Same applies for investments. If there is a fund that profits all the time, IT IS A PONZI! Quick.. Find a pet and predict the next ponzi fund. Till now, HSAQ is a very performing fund. Glad that I'm invested in it. Hopefully AIW would be one of them..

QUOTE(David83 @ Jul 14 2014, 09:56 AM) I doubt AIWEF can be like HSAQ since it's a Shahriah compliant fund. Their hands are pretty tied! But from the record posted by some of the guys, AIW seems to generate quite a good return. Maybe not ponzi type of return
