Im using his iceq3 fan also on my x1800 gto. Temps never go beyond 60c at 520mhz clock speeds. Havent do heavy overclocking so cant tell much but i think its sufficient. Try to use rivatuner to monitor the temps while u were playing games.

no need so drastic until go WC straight la...... just put a blowhole on ur sidepanel and put a fan there to supply fresh cool air to ur cooler... also replace the thermal paste with as5.

if still doesnt work then u can consider WC ur entire rig la...

Yeah , think its enough by just clean the stock tim and change it to Artic Silver 5. I think u can see the temp drop soon, my iceq3 cooler also like that. Good luck.

WAT I MEAN IIIIF AFRAID OF TEMP THEN GO TO WC
BUT THEN I SAY OR IMPROVE YOUR CASE VENTILATION

The Iceq3 cooling is sufficient, just wait until the fan goes to 100%. Mine now, with 560/1224 it wont go more than 70c. I flashed the bios to a X1800xl and its still not that hot.

The stock heatsink is suffecient enough to cool down the GPU Temperature in stock speed (HIS already OC'ed that card)... [Correct me if i'm wrong]

My suggestion is, don't go for WC, it's going to be hard liao... sweat.gif

Go for Thermalright HR-03 VGA cooler...

The best aftermarket VGA heatsink on the market right now... icon_rolleyes.gif

I have the IceQ 3 running with my X1900XT now... the thing is it is a nice cooler for default speed and well ventilation case..................................

problem is it would be considerable noisy when fan spin up to 55%... then it becomes another blower which of course not as powerful as other stock ATI cooler..... that's madness..

anyway will be getting the HR-03 as mentioned by sHawTY from bulk orders... so see how it turns up to be ...

ICEQ3 should be better since its using full copper and it directs the hot air out from the case. And it is better than any ATI stock cooler be it the temperature or the sounds generated.

It is way better as i could admit the temperature and silence level... but once u got used to very silent situation like Accelero X2 ...

It would be hard to accept the fact it's noisier by certain margin....

I hope the HR-03 arrive faster, can't wait to get the cooler exchange for silence... some testing result would be given as promised but where should i post it ? here? or another thread under which topic?

[Off Topic]
U have got ur card now too bad ur mobo on RMA ... else would like to check out ur opinon as well.
