lets say i am an electronic engineer and i want apply for any enginner post in a company what should my cover letter write?

my current cover letter is 'application for a post as electronic enginer' or should i just write application for a post as engineer/ fresh entry enginer'? cos dunno is test/product/pricess engineer etc.

one more question is my cgpa is 2.55 out of 4.00
is it very hard for me to get a job?
can i get a job with this kind of cgpa???

as long as you don't demand a 3,000 salary with that kind of result, i guess it'd be ok

employers do expect applicants to lie a little bit in their cover letter and resume

Not neccesary. You only put your expected salary if they stated it in their advertisement. Else, no need to do so.

Just give them a call or write a short e-mail to them; asking the job application status. Sometimes, your mail will be lost in transition; that's IF you do via normal mail. Don't worry too much, though your results do affect their selection process.

You better do some research on those specific posts in semiconductor/electronic industry (if that is what you want to go into based on your choice of Agilent and Avago) like product engineer, test development engineer, process or assembly engineer, etc.

Find out what these posts are and their significance, and in your application letter state why you like it and how much do you know about it based on your research effort.

Note that this is necessary to complement your CGPA.
