same here. my 1st one cannot safe anymore so it's in my storeroom

anyways i'd rather get another xbox360 than PS3 or Wii. just my personal opinions

Guys, not to add salt to the wounds, but I hope this thread is a lesson to all the potential buyers of the Xbox. I planned to purchase the 360 as well but after reading the horror threads on the 360. I bought so many consoles before, from the NES until the PS2, none of them give me any problems before and thank god i never had warrant even 1 of them.

I understand the frustration of the hassle, the agony and pain that we have to go through every time we go for a warranty(for other stuff). Looks like i have to check out the PS3 anyway

But the first thing is, how come there are guys getting the units from overseas? I mean, if get from local dealers they give 1 year warranty right? Not from MS itself but from the dealers itself. If no 1 year warranty, sorry man i won't take the risk. Too risky, if unlucky, may just KO in a week! >1K stuff is a lot of money

Hmm..anyone wanna organise the petition to Microsoft Malaysia, at least we do something about it..not hurt for trying. Maye we can have th elarge gathering at DJinn place with the present of media....this is the best way that I can think off, instead of blasting the MS in this forum.... Shouldnt warranties be declared void once the said item is displaced outside of the country in which the warranty is issued? Unless the warranty is worldwide of course.

The current procedure of claiming warranty using friends and relatives in SG, for those Asian 360s bought , is with the fact that Ms Singapore close one eye on it, even though they probably know the console had left the country where the warranty resides.

How do i check whether my console is eligible for SG warranty (just in case i unlocked 3ROD achievement) ? No, no way im gonna call connie again.

I know it's OT, but honestly speaking, if you're getting a console for gaming, it's best to stick with 360 for now. PS3 sucks in terms of choice of games and it's online gaming experience. I'm using mine mainly as a BD player, so it's still awesome in that regard.

Just curious. Can i manually remove the dvd-drive and replace it with another 360 dvd-drive? FYI both drive are orginal from a 360. I am thinking of getting spare parts from 3ROD victims and maybe i can solve my "Your Disc is Unreadable" problem.

Btw, i am using a 1st batch Japanese console so my dvd-drive is a Hitachi drive. Can i change it with a Samsung one?

dun be sad. we've all been through this b4, almost all. very soon in a few weeks' time, you will enjoy the flashing displays of the red lights on your 360. you will subsequently be making calls to MS and making a trip down to funan with your heavy white elephant. you may even make repeated trips back to funan cos the replacement may not be perfect too.

but you will soon get used to this process and seeing the same punks at service hub, they will become your regular friends. but donch worry, just keep calling whenever your 360 breaks down, cos MS don't seem to care about your warranty period. since they donch give a damn about their QC too, just call complain abit, and they will replace.

In an official statement issued to GamesIndustry.biz, Microsoft said that the "vast majority" of Xbox 360 owners have had an "outstanding experience" with the console.

But the platform holder went on to concede: "That being said, we have received a few isolated reports of consoles not working as expected.
"It's important to note that there is no systemic issue with Xbox 360 - each incident is unique and these customer inquiries are being handled on a case-by-case basis."

Microsoft has not revealed details of how many Xbox 360 units have been found faulty, but did state that the return rate is "significantly lower" than the CE industry average of between 3 and 5 per cent.

Is still kind of sux la~. have to standby money because scare kena 3ROD .. felt like it somes "backup" money needed for every month just because of the 3ROD.. zzzzzzzzzzz

The newer boxes are not likely to 3ROD. I also believe most 3ROD issues are due to heat. That being the case, rip your box open and put some better cooling K?

seriously guy... told myself already long time ago if i ever kena 3ROD then i would say bye2 to microsoft! another thing that really pissed me off now is i just renewed my gold live for 12 months!
