QUOTE(logic_life @ Apr 5 2014, 09:08 AM) Anyone had the issue where when you use the phone, no matter what application as long the screen is on, it will automatically open the Bing search or it will automatically switch to task manager? Once it happens, you cannot do anything as it seems the screen is frozen. Only thing you can do is turn off the screen and on again and you will be able to use it and press the windows/back/search button. Its been happening to me very frequently. Not sure if the bottom part of the phone is faulty or its just a software issue.. Its really annoying.. Try to reset n than restore back If issue persists I suggest you send in to service center Such issues are indeed annoying |

Delta flight attendants currently use Nokia Lumia 820 Windows Phone devices to accept mobile payments in the skies. The airline is about to upgrade from that aging device to the more powerful and larger-screened Nokia Lumia 1520 — a sign that the carrier has been pleased so far with Windows Phone and won’t use another operating system, like iOS or Android, instead.

QUOTE(eddmecha @ Apr 11 2014, 12:52 AM) guys a question here...does our phone only support certain type of wireless charger?coz i was trying to deal with one of the qi charger seller...then he told me that our phone need a some kind of additional plate to support the charger and he say that lumia 1520 is " LOW END PHONE"....oh well why even bother with wireless charging...other being a good gimmick to show off , practically is not due to its extremely slow charging I understand is only half the speed vs direct AC charging |

I have used so many type of phones and I would say none of them can match Nokia 1520 in sunlight ...the display is simply amazing n one can easily read without need to adjust any settings..I couldn't even believe it until today
ANYTIME of the day in sunlight it is simply amazingly gorgeous n clear See the list of all the phones I have used to date to understand my comparison. This Nokia 1520 I highly recommend to those who often need to use phone under sunlight - no need to adjust or trying to cover up screen or find a place of lower n lesser brighter light |

The 8.1 update had improved my phone 3g pickup signals by about 50%
Inside my house is quite poor n all my Androids eg htc1, note3, XZU is satisfactory averaging 4-6 Mbps while this Nokia 1520 very much poorer often ranging 1-2 Mbps The improvement however still can never match my Androids All using same postpaid Maxis plan This post has been edited by benny888: Apr 15 2014, 07:58 AM |

On 8.1, Internet Explorer now allows me to post attachments in , say here lowyat forum..previously I needed to use UC browser for that purpose. A good improvement indeed
And I agree with another user here, the whole fonts design has improved very much and is so much nicer now |

QUOTE(basara2020 @ Apr 15 2014, 07:28 PM) my phone also. normally left 50+- when comeback home from work. Now left 40~45%. To see what's running in the background, go to your Windows Phone's settings and swipe over to the applications page. There you will find "background tasks" setting at the top of the list.Where can check background apps? Once inside the settings, you'll see a list of all the apps running in the background. To shut it down, just tap on the app and tap the "block" button. To confirm that you've shut down the app, press and hold the back button to view any open apps. EDIT :: Above doesn't seem to work now on 8.1 !!! This post has been edited by benny888: Apr 15 2014, 07:43 PM |
