Few seconds is bad..mine is close to instant

Have yet to experience such issues
Only issue I have is sometimes need to replug in second time to charge phone

Try to reset n than restore back
If issue persists I suggest you send in to service center

why even bother with wireless charging...other being a good gimmick to show off , practically is not due to its extremely slow charging I understand is only half the speed vs direct AC charging

I have used so many type of phones and I would say none of them can match Nokia 1520 in sunlight ...the display is simply amazing n one can easily read without need to adjust any settings..I couldn't even believe it until today
ANYTIME of the day in sunlight it is simply amazingly gorgeous n clear
See the list of all the phones I have used to date to understand my comparison. This Nokia 1520 I highly recommend to those who often need to use phone under sunlight - no need to adjust or trying to cover up screen or find a place of lower n lesser brighter light

Just completed updated mine - you need to update first to Windowse 8.0.10532.16 than after install followup update to 8.1. You need first to sign up as developer before you can update your phone

What scary stuffs
My update is fine n no critical issues
Only one app Volume cannot work...some app might need update only. So far all my commonly used app working fine
WPCentral user problems all those issues I don't face
Don't allow just few complain disturb you
A very good n must have update
I love the new notification center n now can assign individual notification to app eg whatsapp
Whom phone is smoother overall
Just release only n you expect a 100% perfect firmware...even Apple n Android firmware updates has their own set of issues

The 8.1 update had improved my phone 3g pickup signals by about 50%
Inside my house is quite poor n all my Androids eg htc1, note3, XZU is satisfactory averaging 4-6 Mbps while this Nokia 1520 very much poorer often ranging 1-2 Mbps
The improvement however still can never match my Androids
All using same postpaid Maxis plan

Seems update 8.1 drains my battery quicker but really need few more days to judge

On 8.1, Internet Explorer now allows me to post attachments in , say here lowyat forum..previously I needed to use UC browser for that purpose. A good improvement indeed
And I agree with another user here, the whole fonts design has improved very much and is so much nicer now

All Nokia stuffs remain intact

No need to format phone - lah to update to 8.1

To see what's running in the background, go to your Windows Phone's settings and swipe over to the applications page. There you will find "background tasks" setting at the top of the list.

Once inside the settings, you'll see a list of all the apps running in the background. To shut it down, just tap on the app and tap the "block" button. To confirm that you've shut down the app, press and hold the back button to view any open apps.

EDIT :: Above doesn't seem to work now on 8.1 !!!

Just switch to UK n buy the app
Switch back to USA or Malaysia n restart phone
All your purchased app will work

Just simply taroh n hentam but you can always google eg type London hotel addresses etc n you will have a guide

You can only use the voucher in UK mode
You wont see this wallet in Malaysia mode
I don't even buy a single game as I don't play such stuffs on phone nor tablets
