the latest DP GDR1 update release seem have lower the power consumption during active usage to about 50% less... rclxm9.gif

I believe the S800 logic been update especially for those less complex process like browsing or reading static page... hmm.gif

Anyone who have the update done please verify... monitor the ACTIVE %/hour after the update and compare with what your previously "known" power draining pattern... me here observed now about 7%/hour with screen on and reading news compare with previous ~5%/20mins (know this as I have batt monitor)... rclxms.gif thumbup.gif

saw on youtube, someone do a review on tampered glass sp that can cover all the screen...
*
Don't believe all on YouTube... All the full glass sp will have un-sticking areas around the whole screen at the edges and cause all the dust collected underneath it after a period of time... shakehead.gif

You can get more info if you browse through Taobao and read all the users review regarding those fully cover glass sp... yawn.gif

Nano Anti Burst tempered glass protector.

This is the Nilkin glass sp for Lumia 1520? See the bottom edge not fully cover and then I'll not recommend it as this glass sp edge don't have 2.5D finishing and have risk to cut your hands if you slight on the edge with your fingers... Dangerous stuff... sweat.gif

QUOTE(Eoma @ Aug 25 2014, 09:17 AM)
I've been using the Nilkin one for close to 2 months. So far so good. No peeling. Slight dust buildup around the edges (the entire film, not just the bottom curve). Can just use the fingers to clean, no cuts  smile.gif .
*
QUOTE(evilpuppy @ Aug 25 2014, 02:51 PM)
Yeah, the bottom curve doesn't fully covered look weird. But not that dangerous my friend untill can cut your fingers la, my thumbs not even can reaching that Conner.
*
Have 2 of you feel those glass sp with 2.5D edge finishing? if you've try then you will know what I'm try to say here, the edge might not "cut" your fingers but you felt the sharpness of it... then back to the original forumer asking is about FULL COVERAGE glass sp not these less here and there sp... so that's why I'm telling him there's is NON and if got full cover glass sp it will also causing all the surrounding edge won't stick as our L1520 screen are curved at its edge so all rigid glass sp won't do the trick... doh.gif

QUOTE(RoxyMunky @ Aug 26 2014, 09:04 AM)
guys,

anyone experiencing poor battery life on Cyan? now my 1520 could only last around 16hours a day comparing 20hours a day.

main usage is whatsapp and wechat.

location and data is always on.

is there any tweaking i could do to improve it?
*
QUOTE(KayK @ Aug 26 2014, 09:31 AM)
perhaps the battery usage?

i'm getting more or less the same, depending on how much i use it...
and yes, if i chat a lot on whatsapp and wechat then the battery will drop quite a bit...as much as 20% in an hour, if heavy texting, especially group chat...

location on, sensorcore on, data on (when i'm outisde), wifi on when at home...

one thing i noticed though, seems like my phone no longer picking up my location...
hardly see the location icon on the top of the phone...
now it no auto turn on my wifi when i got home...
*
I will suggest both of you first do a soft reset and monitor if still cannot then hard reset... It's painful I know but I assume my standby usage won't less then you both and idling time the phone drain max 3% per hour and normally it's 2% per hour... Different story during active usage which easily drain ~10% per hour and if with gaming easily hit 15% per hour... Cyan for me is more battery friendly especially during active usage as last time Black would easily hit 15% per hour when using it just to browse webpage which now only drain at ~10% nod.gif

ouch~~

First try this to soft reset your Nokia 1520 Lumia. Turn off your Nokia 1520 Press and hold the Volume down and Power buttons until it vibrates, after that you have to release all the keys then phone will vibrate 3 times. All data will be lost!
*
It won't if you've pressed the right keys... doh.gif

the method is volume down and power button:
Press on the Power Button with one finger and at the same time press down on the Volume down button with another finger and hold down for 10 seconds

so, all the data and apps remain right? just wanna confirm this... sweat.gif
*
yes... that is soft reset mean hard reboot and all user data remain... laugh.gif

Speed: Never miss a moment with Lumia Camera and its fast camera startup and capture speeds. Take numerous photos with just milliseconds beyond shots.

High definition: Using Moment Capture, a long press of the camera button within the app automatically starts 4K-quality video recording at 24 frames per second. Each frame is of high image quality at 8.3 megapixels, allowing every single video frame to be selected and saved as a still image.

Intuitiveness: Get the best shot every time with Rich Capture, which simplifies picture-taking with auto HDR and Dynamic Flash. With Rich Capture, people can avoid the hassle adjusting camera settings; they can shoot first and edit and select the perfect shot later.

Quality: Capture high-quality smartphone images in low light with the latest-generation imaging algorithms.
