QUOTE(KL_leo @ Mar 9 2015, 01:37 AM) HI, all. Officially im the new user for nokia 1520. Any good apps, setting, tricks or tips (user experience) to share? Don't know if it's still open, but you can go to Store>Microsoft Garage A lot of cool stuff there, Tetra Lockscreen especially. Tracks your daily steps, give you your location, weather, stopwatch without even unlocking your screen. Oh, and Mixradio is the BOMB.

QUOTE(shrumpish @ Mar 9 2015, 10:28 AM) have anyone tried to change their 1520's cover through microsfot service centre? i'm planning to change my red to yellow Thing with a unibody design is that, it's stuck together. I've a white one, been wanting a black one. In the end just stuck carbon fibre decal as a self consolation.

QUOTE(basara2020 @ Mar 10 2015, 05:05 PM) Hi all. This month my L1520 already 1Y 2months old. I'm not sure after update denim or just my battery going old. Sometimes my phone suddenly shutdown. Yesterday during using waze without car charger, battery about 60%. But after navigate about 15minutes, phone shutdown "battery critical low". After restart back my phone still have 50%. This auto shutdown not only use waze, during surfing using IE also happen several times. Sometimes when I reboot 3~5 times, battery become 2%. When I charge and left the phone there, battery full from 35 to 100% in 20minutes. Time to go hospital, I fear. :/ My denim's running smooth though.

QUOTE(IccyAsd @ Mar 12 2015, 06:15 PM) I use Cortana a lot while driving, like calling/text/take note of something, even navigate home with Here Drive+ "Hey Cortana" + "Take me home" (While my phone is attached to the windscreen holder) Its abit difficult for the phone to hear "Hey Cortana" from far, it works better if you speak it nearby or loud. So I just use my Microsoft Band to talk to Cortana most of the time while my hands is on the steering wheel, a much better mic receiver haha. Fuihh, nice set of gadgets. Hahaha my Cortana is like my girlfriend: always pretending she never heard me. "Hey Cortana" is seriously less effective than "OK Google", but Cortana itself is useful nonetheless. No idea how to increase the sensitivity, always have trouble using "Hey Cortana"

QUOTE(zachary22_77 @ Mar 13 2015, 10:05 AM) Wow cool!!! How's comfortable is Microsoft Band? All reviews point to it being uncomfortable. Yes "Hey Cortana" is not as easy to use as "OK google" or "Hey Siri". Those 2 you can more easily call up, not having to worry bout how exactly you say it. On the other hand I do like that Cortana only responds to me hahaha. But if you have trouble with getting her to respond, I suggest retraining her. Speak loudly in the manner you would call her up in the most comfortable tone for you. I found that the tone is the most important thing, change it slightly & "Hey Cortana" won't work. Retraining her in different tones?

QUOTE(zachary22_77 @ Mar 13 2015, 03:35 PM) No, not different tones. It only works in 1 tone. Also make sure u train her in quiet environment else sure fail one Ya, I also repeated a lot of times. But it turns out it because I have environment noise so it failed haha Hahaha! Yeahh omg had to repeat so many times. Maybe I'll lock myself in a quiet room. Thanks!

QUOTE(zachary22_77 @ Apr 9 2015, 02:47 PM) Well they did give us Lumia Camera 5, so still have camera software R&D hehe. But Lumia 1520 is actually a unique phone which sadly didn't sell well. Microsoft already confirmed a flagship is only coming AFTER Windows 10 ships, which is Summer 2015. So I'm guessing July to August timeframe only. Also I doubt they will bring back 1020 camera spec. The idea is excellent but unfortunately not what the mass market wants. As have been shown by all other phone makers, ppl wants to be able to take pictures fast, with almost no delay to next shot, variable frame rate videos, on the fly filters & panoramas. Microsoft needs to get those basics covered well before thinking of putting more unique features else ppl will always complain. Now I love lossless zoom & Lumia Camera 5 so don't get me wrong, just that till today our beloved 1520 still can't do stuff like variable frame rate videos or even take good panoramas!!! Anyway, the next W10 Technical Preview is coming this Saturday 1am MY time so get ready if you wanna try it Sigh.. Sadly, the most important thing for me is slow-motion/high frame rate recording. Hahah would jump at the next flagship and marry it if it has 60fps or 240fps like iPhone 6+
