If you want to study....

1. Check how many shares are there in MAS.

MAS has only 16.71 Billion shares.
only... hehe...
That's 16,710,000,000

2. Check how many shares (%) Khazanah owns (in this case)

Khazanah ownns 69.37% - put it 70% for easy counting.

3. To buy all the company...

Market cap of MAS based on 21.5 sen is 3.592 billion.

Market cap can be considered as the value of MAS, assuming it's sold at 21.5 sen.


... well, Khazanah owns 70%.
30% of 3.592 billion is 1.078 billion.

That's how much MAS will cost Khazanah if it wants to buy the remaining 30% shares at 21.5 sen.


... when Mayban research came out with the article MAS was only 21 sen
... Mayban suggested/assume/speculated/dream/whatever-u-want-to call-it that Khazanah could come out with a privatisation plan by offering 10% premium.
... layman term, Khazanah tells rest of MAS owners to sell their shares to MAS at 22 sen.

I think this report is notty....

MAS is in deep shit.....
the 370 is one mega issue...........
it will not help the company at all.......
and it is being reflected in currently 'seemingly' low price of MAS.

the company's balance sheet is very sickly......

and not helping.... the biggest problem is its UNION.
with the existence of the UNION....
no one will be able to solve the main issues for MAS....
MAS will not able to cut down its operating costs....

Problems, problems and more problems....
and not helping...
the airline industry sucks.

competition is getting tougher too.....

the constant need for CAPEX (ie new aircrafts - ie millions and millions of more borrowings needed)...

a breakout in this case would see the stock move higher from that cluster.....


remember.... logically the stock should breakaway from the cluster in time...

BUT ..... breakaway in such instance do not have to mean 'move higher'.....

'moving lower' is also a form of breakaway.....
