Just made two sets of FRP reinforcing plate as brake pad. Sadly the sponge brake set is out of stock.
I've use filling kits and 3 second glue. And use paper clamp to stick it hard.
Finally I'm ditching my festa Jaune big @$$ cowl for astrala/avante MK 3 Nero cowl.
Is it wise to use hex hole as reinforcement for the rollers screw to avoid damage/bent.

QUOTE(shadow910512 @ Mar 27 2014, 11:53 AM) is it better to put big diameter rollers (17mm-19mm) on the rear than smaller ones? i always thought smaller ones are better on cornering saw many people actually prefer big ones I've tried HG 19mm seems stable in semi speed. When I tried 13mm great for speed.

QUOTE(soulfly @ Mar 27 2014, 12:20 PM) thundershot pink habis. aku pun nak kalau ada. hg 3mm depan punya ada lagi sikit. Yes. It's commonly used. Since is commonly used. Why I still see some users using FRP brake plate for front? Or both works the same? Which is your preferred choice for front brake? Is better to use hex hole than aluminium spacer to cover the bolt for rollers to avoid damage in track which causes it to bent.

QUOTE(liquidvamp @ Mar 27 2014, 04:12 PM) depends on ur preferences.. some ppl prefers to spend RM11.. some ppl prefers the easier way, and pay RM20.. the effect is still the same. But I prefer the rm 18/20 front under guard set. At least my finger won't get stuck with "3 second glue". As those are looking for nut driver 2mm can get Pro's Kit nut driver for rm 20 only. But won't fit on 2mm nut lock type since is 4.5mm

QUOTE(shadow910512 @ Mar 28 2014, 10:53 AM) the best u can do as clowgod said is double roller depends on your preferences what mm to use for me must be smaller than rear roller so 12-13mm double roller will do If faster then can use 9-8mm double rollers. Going to test out a car kit with front 9-8mm double roller with twin 830 bearing behind.

QUOTE(shadow910512 @ Mar 28 2014, 01:10 PM) do tell us the result , what chassis are you using? im more of a technical ones , so much challenge and headache then again, other people car are faster than mine in overall speed though need to swap all plastic bearings with aluminum ones and thinking of making a hanging damper Based on theory should be faster as smaller rollers reduce friction. Perhaps submerge in zippo lighter fluid. Going to use Super chassis 2 Proto Emperor. Arch tire.

QUOTE(ErgoProxi @ Mar 29 2014, 05:36 AM) but it's kinda hard to find~ that's why I just bought 2 pairs of 9mm & 1 pair ringless 13mm rollers instead. p/s: Just went over budget again But I've seen a lot of sellers selling AO 830 price range from RM 30 - 35. Is easy available right now.

QUOTE(ErgoProxi @ Mar 30 2014, 08:35 AM) noob here.. did ya legally use a bearing as damper[referring to broken frp section]? That's not. Is Tamiya 94985 Mass Damper Set (Cylinder BLack) Some prefer black then being gold.

QUOTE(ErgoProxi @ Mar 30 2014, 09:19 AM) Thanks~ btw, since yar on9... does aluminum motor cooler does anything? Is it worthy to go for aluminum gear bearing? does the long screws come with the basic tune? Aluminum motor cooler maybe cools the motor but i doubt the margin is good enough. Is actually metal bearing gear set. Sold roughly RM 20 for MS / MA chassis. Those MS Super Speed gear set 3.5:1 ratio doesnt come with metal instead plastic bush. Unlike Super 2 Chassis whereby the metal bearing is provided along the super speed 3.5:1 or 3.7:1 gear set. Long screw such as 40mm are sold separately under "Tamiya Screw Set D" cost around rm 10 per pack.

QUOTE(ErgoProxi @ Mar 31 2014, 01:49 AM) sifu, does the cap helps with the aerodynamics? Caps that are closes to the edge does help a bit on keeping the track inside while the other purpose is to avoid the screw edges scratching the track wall.

QUOTE(sonic_cd @ Apr 1 2014, 03:01 PM) there is a huge debate on the effectivemess of com drops on the motor on the rc forums though , some say its works and it does not... I've tried it and it doesn't work. Many tamiya racers here said a that it eats the commutator layer
