dei they are talking bout pwm lah not chipset...neway best way is to clear up the atx cable by bending it as close to the case as possilble the ur case air flow will take care of it...

My PWM IC temperature hovers around 37-40c. Wonder why yours got so high. It should be due to airflow and your case temp.

I'm using an XP-90 on my proc and everytime i tune my Nidec to full speed, the PWM IC temp will decrease by at least 1c.

So i reckon it's an airflow problem u having there. Possibly hot air from the Ninja just gets stucked there.

The main issue is that the Ninja airflow is parallel to the mobo, so there is no secondary airflow from the Ninja to cool the PWM since it all flows straight out the case exhaust or out the PSU. This is a common issue for all tower style heatsinks.

Best method is to somehow position a small fan to provide airflow to the PWMs. I plan to do this on my own system with some 40mm Sunon Maglevs, but haven't figured out a nice neat way of mounting them yet.

Other way is to create a duct, but this will take alot more work. laugh.gif

Oic...haven't used any tower based HSF, now i get it.
So the easiest way for TS will be the one to stick an 80mm or 120mm fan behind the CD-Rom.

XP-90 and XP-120 are exceptionally good at cooling the PWM which is near the proc because the fan will also blow on it. However, you don't have to worry so much about the PWM overheating, it can safely take up to 65C. The PWM actually doesn't generate that much heat (1/5 of the processor) even a slow 80mm fan will drop temps to below 50C (for AMD only, intel systems take up more power).

just make sure the air flow in your casing is enough to cool your mobo...good air ventilation will blow that hot air air.. agreed..just point a fan to the IC...or maybe can add some RAM heatsink on that IC..huhu..
