QUOTE(eikan @ Aug 22 2014, 10:01 AM) WOW that pretty low FC!! jelly I have the same issue too, within a week after got my EB, drove to KLIA2 to pick up customer to Pg, the car tend to go left. Visited the SC in Penang while the receptionist said they will only redo the alignment FOC if mileage below 500 but my car almost hit 1K for the 1st service. However, call Proton I Care and the operator told me to send to the SC and they shall fit for me, else call again during official hour to lodge a report then with the report no, refer to SC again. Went to the same SC again, directly look for the Senior Service advisor while he asked the person incharge of balancing / alignment to check and he did some adjustment for my car (not the proper alignment with machine) and let me try 1st. So far seem ok but really need to go for a longer ride to prove it! Hope this help!Recently did 30k service (RM400 includes other fix), did requesting latest ECU firmware (2 day required). So far so good.. more responsive, haven't tried long distance travel Did ask about radiator/turbohose/fuelpumphose (refer to prev complaint by others owner).... they said they wont change if no issue My only issue atm ...when driving the car 'feel' tend to go left (hand off steering) . Dont think alignment/balancing issue ...drive laju2 no gegar...already 3 times doing alignment/balancing.. so truely dunno why. Maybe tyre need to change? or my steel rim berat sebelah? Other than that im very satisfy with my Exora |

QUOTE(YouDontKnowMyName @ Sep 25 2014, 10:45 AM) Wow suddenly so many radiator problems being brought up lately. What happened?? Dun wait for the recall, just approach SC to request for change. On EOCM fb page some said few SC did arrange for change oredi... Good Luck!edit : Just checked my unit of EB (2013 batch with turbo emblem, bought in december). My radiator is the plastic type. ![]() Does anyone know what causes the radiator to fail? or anything we can do to prevent it from happening to us? Hopefully Proton initiates a recall for the affected units. |

Hi bro,
Which SC u went in Penang? So far fixing lotsa issue? Mind to PM me what additional MOB, upgrades, etc that you had done. Sorry as am newbie, just 2 months old! LOL QUOTE(alexei @ Oct 30 2014, 05:14 PM) My radiator arrived, tomorrow going to Penang P1SC. Problems I'm going to report for checking: 1. Front left suspension longgar when crossing bump. Open the window can hear it. Clearly audible and concern for safety. 2. Rear suspension can hear loose jerking noise when going at low speed ~40kmh. Clearly audible and concern for safety. 3. Air con belt tensioner noisy. Clearly audible, but once warm up will go away. However, open the bonnet can still see the tensioner vibrating very hard. 4. Steering got abrasive noise when turning (sound like 'fooooo', audible when surrounding is silent) 5. Turbo turbine wheel got oil stain at intake side. |

QUOTE(alexei @ Oct 31 2014, 08:48 AM) The headlights will dim when the compressor turns on. The cap has built in voltmeter for me to monitor the battery also. These mf batteries will fail without notice. Oh like that. Whats ur opinion on ground cable? Would it help to stabilize the power and improve performances? 1 shop quoted me $298 included installation while in ebay / lelong can got it below $50 and in the forum got ppl show the diagram on where to install it. |

QUOTE(alexei @ Oct 31 2014, 03:52 PM) Haven't got time to try that, IMO, don't need huge gauge grounding cable to achieve the effect. Hi bro,And sometimes the car also need to upgrade wiring to see the improvement. I'd prefer DIY for less than your quoted price, but I have no results to show. The price i mentioned was quoted by a accessory shop included installation, not DIY. As for DIY, I might get its from online store which cost less then $50 for 5 cables /set and do it myself... LOL Btw, sorry to know that u been wasted time in SC today. They really taking up time to handle problem, my last visit appointment @ 9am but I waited for the queue untill 935am then handover my bold. While waiting for my friend pick up, i seated there till aroun d 12 noon but notice my bold just seated there at the parking area without any action... doubt when then start checking my bold and I return around 5pm to pick up my car but problems seem not really done. 1) High fuel consumption - claimed they had done it, dunno, still monitoring 2) Reverse engine died - claimed they had tackle it, dunno as yet to encounter again 3) Fuel cover stuck if push too hard when close - dif kind of stuck now while will need to fix it next round 4) dashboard seem have sound - claimed need another full day or 2 to check. 5) Rear bumper missing screw - Ordering the screw and bracket and need to wait a week, need to pay even its missing 2 days after i got my bold. Yet to received call from them and will call and ask. 6) Alignment running to left - saw a Indian guy was doing alignment when i pick up my car, seem its better and no charge 7) Radio stop sometime and the volume vary on dif channel (87.8 louder, 92.1 & 92.8 softer) - still the same 8) Wiper stop in the middle during operation - claimed fix but still encounter the problem 9) Ground cable bracket area rust - cleaned the area and so far so good 10) Front bonnet uneven after close, got sound when move it - yet to fix and on next round. 11) Remote key distance not far, above 1 car distance not function - SA claimed its security measure. Any advice? Guess if problem continuing unfix, calling I-care or wecare might help. Beside, I just checked on Yes web page, there a statement said any new proton car purchased from 1st Oct 2013 till 31st Jan 2015 entitled for the Yes huddle bundled with 1 year free subscription, but my S told me NO, wonder why while will check out further. |

QUOTE(alexei @ Nov 2 2014, 11:10 AM) 1 - what petrol u using, and how bad is the FC? 1) I usually use Ron95 but last 2 week I did tried 2-3 tank of Ron 97 when going outstation but its doesn't seem giving very good FC. Usual a full tank of 95, its can only last me less then 400 km... What they always said how heavy footer we are but I would say how soft footer we shd then to archieve the low FC (tried these few days, the FC raise easily above 13-19.9 even we not really pressing the pedal) Will continue monitoring it. Btw, I felt b4 my 1K service, the FC seem better as I did a trip to KL and back, guess I managed to get above 600 but recently 550 the most loh, even with Ron 97. I use Mobil 10-40 semi during my 1K service!2 - when switch to reverse, did you switch directly from D-N-R? Need to pause at N for a short while to relieve pressure, then switch to R, wait for the pressure to build, then press accelerator. 8 - wiper stop: first time hearing 10 - Bonnet cover has two screw type stopper on either side towards the front. I adjusted mine myself. Otherwise, there would be 'trrrrr' noise when engine is running. 11 - Mine same for unlock. To lock, the distance is further. 2) I did do it steadyly. My last encounter was doing a 3 points turns while shifting to R, engine died unnoticed, after pedal press and nothing happen, then only i knew it... LOL! 8) How to explain on the wiper, may be during stop at junction or when shifting to neutral, sometime i encounter it still move up a bit and stop at 1/3. 10) I knew about it and did tried to tuning the stopper but no success... the S said next round will ask the foreman to do something on the middle hook. 11) I does mean to have a very far distance but just a car distance seem very near for me loh. Anyway, just call SC and my screw & bracket for my rear bumper had arrived, appointment this wed to fix it as well as other things in doubt. Will keep u posted. |

QUOTE(YouDontKnowMyName @ Nov 3 2014, 11:08 PM) Wiper stop functioning when car is stopped (at junction or during jam) is normal. It's part of the Body Control Module (BCM) features. I do understand the BCM features but I dun think its normal for such 'hang' at 1/3 especially when I shift from 2 speed to 0 (nil).I noticed the wipers on mine will only "stop at 1/3" when I accelerate abit then stop again repeatedly. Maybe the system is confused whether to turn on the wiper or not |

QUOTE(alexei @ Nov 5 2014, 02:04 PM) I mean, which brand of petrol do you use? Oh, i swapped to Caltex during my previous car while lately used Shell. I'm not Petronas supporter, so.... hehehe! This EB FC quite depends on RPM and speed. The highest FC for me is when accelerating until 60km/h, after that, the CVT RPM (not engine RPM) fully engage, and you can cruise nicely below 10L/100km all the way until 120km/h. Also, during downhill, when the CVT starts to drag, some ppl like to switch to free gear, but that actually make FC worse. If you use OBDII dongle, you can see that when CVT drag happens, the fuel feed will switch to open-loop mode and the AFR will go to zero. Something like 'deceleration fuel cut off'. My usage is Petronas RON95, 38L tank for 420km. That's about 11L/100km consistently. City driving will hurt FC, up to 14L/100km sometimes. My remote also can activate only at that distance. Agreed with ur driving behavior, shd pedal at accelerate for awhile then cool and steady after reach 40-60km/h. After understanding the driving behavior, now am monitoring and perhaps can have better fc. I usually dun freeing the gear during downhill, as its oso not good for stopping, as engine breaking not present, might cause some unforeseen accident too. Go through our bold manual, its stated 20M for the remote distance but however dun think its right as too far for that. Beside, our car tinted also shd effected the sensitiveness of the remote key. Today went to SC to fix the rear bumper issue, the bracket eventually broken and had it replaced, charged by sc but reasonable price loh although shd claimed with my car dealer but nvm lah. Going for my 10K service soon (6k now), will try out the totally free service by using the Petronas Mach 5 10w-30 mineral oil. Any ppl used that now or before? |

QUOTE(Joel Especkerman @ Nov 10 2014, 10:16 AM) Hi all, As for the car alignment slightly to left, I would say go to SC ASAP as when mileage higher, they might not do free alignment for you anymore (thats what my encounter too but I check when mileage almost 1K and they said need to be charge, >500 should be still cover). Have been reading this forum awhile before getting the Exora CVT Premium. Received the car last week. Color Elegant Brown. Had some problems with my car tinting, however this is in the process of being rectify, so no issues. Back to the car, I have some feedback to share and would like to know if there are other owners have or had similar problems to their EB as well:- 1) There is a irritating sound coming from the left front side of the car (somewhere around the left front wheel / left arm). It happens usually from a stop position to move position (upon pressing the accelarator). 2) Bubbling water sound coming from the engine. Engine feels rough upon intial move. 3) Car alignment slightly to left. May I know which one is fixable which one is not? Please share the correction measures? Is ok to wait until the 1000km (1st service) then raise this matter then as currently the car is at 250km mileage only? Have not read the manual yet? What engine oil is recommended and what service mileage is prefer @ 5000km, 7000km or 10000km for a Turbo Engine? Any good recommended spark plugs suitable for the EB which helps with fuel mileage and whait is the price tag? Hope to get some good feedbacks. Cheers. p.s. Purchase this model from Subang Jaya SS14/15... not sure which SS number.... Joel From our manual book, reccomended 10W-30 but never stated Mineral, Semi or fuly. Its still my doubt choosing the engine oil but my 1K service was using Mobil 10W-40 semi, would try out 10W-30 mineral on 10K as its under the total free service LOL. s for4 the spark plug, its only need to be change @ 60K or 100K, need not worry too early while the price for a set around RM400 as its not normal type, from other owner experience. |

QUOTE(YouDontKnowMyName @ Oct 25 2014, 01:47 AM) I bought a flip key for EB online. Just need to go duplicate your key teeth at a keysmith, then transfer over all the components of the remote (board, battery, immobiliser chip) into the designated slots in the flip key Hi bro,Warning : Image heavy » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I think the flip key feels significantly more solid in the hand than the original EB key. The flip key has quite an amount of heft compared to the hollow plasticky feel of the original key. Plus can show off the flip key mechanism to friends just because it looks fancy I interested to get the flip key too but wish to check with you, the quality of the flip key, after awhile u been using it, will the key turn rusted? Thx in advance! |
