hello everyone! here's a few questions

1) I'm a D license holder (without P. I'm 26 already) and would like to take a B2 license for motorbikes. Do i have to take any theory and test again? How much would it be if i take my B2 now? is it a one day process?

2) I'm recently into naked bikes and found that there's a few 250cc bikes that is DAMN INTERESTING. Any recommendation? My budget is below 10k if possible. (plus minus around there)

3) I've shortlisted a few. Any comments on the bikes below/other recommendation? Here's a few i'll list down.
a) megelli 250sr
b) YSM T2
c) Demak DZM 200
d) Keeway RKV200g
e) Nimota CK9

4) Last question. I'm quite noob la in bikes so i was just wondering what determines the tyre width size? Big tyre bikes looks cool tho!

The reasons I will be getting a bike will be more like a weekend drive or "night drive a.k.a yumcha" only. No daily use intended.

why no consider KTM duke 200

looks very good with that 170 tyre and coupled with that front upside down telescopic fork, handling not bad

and KTM is quite reliable...

NEVER BUY megelli unless u're seeking for trouble

SYM T2 is too expensive for what they offer on the bike

regarding your license you dont need to take the test but you have to attend the boring class for your bike L license, after you get your L, you need to wait 1 month in order to take the test

wait a while for naza to rebadge the hyosung exiv 250 and see what price tag they put.. their prices are always competitive
*
yea duke 200 should be in my list too. in terms of performance/maintenance and resell value, is duke better than hyosung? in ur opinion is it worth waiting?

they announced it in india and say its to rival duke 200 biggrin.gif  with better power output and cheaper pricing... well that was in india.. malaysia dont know yet.. but since Naza decided to CKD the bike, it will be cheap for sure  rclxms.gif  duke resale value is better than hyosung.... quality also should be better  hmm.gif

basically what hyosung offer is almost the same with duke but with a cheaper price, the trade off is resale and QC issue  laugh.gif

that bike actually looks pretty awesome. but the small little exhaust being at the bottom?? thats a bit weird hahaha.....
damn i wonder when naza will have this in malaysia. anyway how much would a 170tyre cost? basically just changing of tyre no upgrade of rims needed right?

yep stock rims on ktm 200 can hold 170 tyres... that little exhaust at the btm been adopted by alot of bike.. even the infamous ducati 1199 haha ... by reducing the length of exhaust system bike can be lighter ... and some mechanical advantage i dont understand tongue.gif  something about lower bike so better geometry

the new rebadge hyosung should be coming soon someone went to naza factory and saw the parts

Join the fb group for the respective bike below & read through their pages. that might help you (a lot) in choosing the bike.

DZM 200
Nimota CK9
RKV 200
DUKE 200

each of these bikes have their own minor/tiny problems, being a cheap 200cc bike (below 10K)
I would recommend DZM 200 because i'm getting one.  tongue.gif
*
lazy to read thru all of their pages la...that's why open a topic here to gather all the sifu to have a chit chat tongue.gif
anyway what about dzm200? any problem should i expect if i buy it? pro/cons?

u can get 2nd duke 200 for around that price

last time i saw duke 200 with full powerpart + akrapovic exhaust for RM15k, quite a bargain (for me). i think cost of modified alone i think around RM10k (i think)

not sure bout tyre, i thought duke 200 max is 160  hmm.gif
*
sounds like a good deal!

anyway i wonder what's the best loan to buy bikes around 20k? I've calculated before and the interest rate is damn high yawn.gif i'll end up paying almost double the price

can try bank islam, if im not mistaken there is special loan for that, or just loan at shop

aeon loan is the last choice, their interest  rclxub.gif
*
but that's only for bumiputera right? -______- i dont have that kinda benefit lol rclxub.gif

not sure, but can ask maybe worth a try

and by the way if u are going/will buy duke 200, that bike aint fast, acceptable top but great torque, LC135 or maybe modded kriss can tapau u already (top) haha

it's a fun bike, not for speed. go for maybe z250 if u want for speed (i think so)
*
but z250 is quite expensive (i personally think not worth it if buy with loan. interest damn high!) actually im just looking for a fun ride...not really looking for topspeed. So eventho a second hand bike would do actually ! just that it would be good if something looks cool heheeee.

After all the sifu commented, my choice would be DZM200, duke200, sym t2? nimota ck9? ahhh confusing...rclxub.gif

anyway whats the factor should i consider when changing to bigger tyres? rim?

Z250 also not fast.
The cheapest is nimota. Quite reliable since it's been here for more than a year already. Extra money save can spend to mod the bike to look supercool.

Will tell you my initial impression on dzm200 once i get my hand on it this weekend.
*
anyway why are dirt bike so cheap? kinda tempting to get one too! klx 150 is only about 8k+ lol... rclxms.gif

If you need to get B2 license, might as well straight away go for B license.
Any previous experience with motorcycle at all?
*
a bit of taman riding but not much. no problem with the stability but i think not worth it to spend so much on license...how much is B license anyway ? (i've a car license already)

KTM Duke 200 or Kawasaki Z250,if want buy z250 better buy Ninja 300,almost same price but more power and more handsome smile.gif
*
but the interest rate for bike loan are damn high. the interest i end up paying is almost as same as i pay for my car. any way of getting lower interest loan? (Those that i see are usually 8% p.a)

What's not worth it is you going back another day to finally get the B license.
I got mine for around RM500, years ago in Penang. Don't know how much is it now, and in your area.
Consider it, if the price difference is not much, you should go for B rather than B2.
*
point well made. i'm sure one day down the road i'll be riding something bigger than 250cc....
btw license renew same price right? for b and b2
