Already reached sequence 6, but story still feel too linear. :/

oh I thought it's already at Pos Laju office but they're on holiday so cannot post now

the game only grindy on early part of the game. this time, you only have the cafe as revenue source, need to upgrade and do cafe missions to increase the money per hour. currently, my revenue from cafe is 20k livres per hour.

looks like Initiates is working now. all my previous games are linked to Initiates. jumping my level to 15

for now, the only way is to own previous AC games and add it to your Uplay account. and need to play it of course.

Level go down to 12, some games are "removed" from my game.

Luckily i already grabbed all Initiates chests in the game.

Before is 15, now 12

Not sure if there's higher level chests out there. It doesn't get highlighted on my map.

Combat:
- Disarm feature is removed. wat???
- Hidden blade only for assassination. You cannot use it in combat anymore. This is the most WTF shit for me. I've been using hidden blade as my main weapon for EVERY Assasin's Creed game and this is just.... ARGHGHGHHGHGH *punch hole in the wall*
- No more double kill during combat too. Shame
- Double assassination looks meh now. You don't have double hidden blade now, so double assassination = kill 1 enemy then another enemy. No more cool animation like Ezio or Connor.
- No more weapon wheel. At least in AC4 can switch between cutlass and hidden blade.
- Phantom blade are kinda forgettable weapon. The only use for this weapon is the silent kill from a range. Even so, the range is too short and there's no upgrade for the range. Only upgrade it has is the double shot.
- You can no more attract guards to your haystack/bench/cupboard so now hard to kill from hidden spot.

Other issues:
- TOO MANY NPC!!!
- Microtransaction in a single player game. Seriously Ubi????
- No more present time adventure, now it's only cutscenes.
- The Companion app and Initiates. If you want to force people to use your app, at least make it work properly! Crash everytime on my phone. even on Bluestacks can crash. Plus it doesn't work as it should (unlocking nomad chest in the game). Initiates more suck. Some veteran outfit are locked by Initiates and need to gain certain level. HOWEVER, there's no way to increase your level other than owning previous games, play it and link it to Initiates. Currently, they're fixing the Initiates so some people got their account bugged.
- Most of the top tier equipments are locked by the online feature. Most of them are from Club Competition. Problem is, Club Competition is not available until now. So how can we access that particular equipment?
- PvP is removed. DUDE, THAT'S ONE OF THE BEST PART OF AC GAMES SINCE BROTHERHOOD.
- I don't think I need to say anything about the optimization

The good stuff:
- Story now I only reach Sequence 10 so can't comment on that. What I see is, at first the story kinda linear at the beginning then after awhile then it got interesting. We will also met several interesting characters, like Napoleon (got fiancee issue lol).
- Side quests are still a lot, and each has their own story like reclaiming Nicolas Flamel's Water of Life, guillotine stuff and solving Napoleon's love story.
- They make quite a huge change with the Eagle Vision. Now it has vision range, duration and cooldown. So you can't switch on your Eagle Vision as freely as before.
- Rift bridge is awesome. You get to venture Paris in different timeline. You can replay the bridge for "collect the data" mission.
- Combat is hard. No more critical kill, counter kill, spam attack. You now got invisible stamina bar, can only attack 3 times, pause attack again. Enemies are varied depends on type and stength. Higher level can 1 hit kill you (which happens to me most of the time).
- Smoke bomb is still OP.
- Number of supplies (medicine, bullets, bombs etc) are totally depends on your gear. The higher your gear level, the more you can carry.
- The crouch button is really useful for stealth.
- Parry is still there, now got critical parry that can stun enemies if timed correctly.
- got different types of weapon to play. currently using katana (love the after-combat animation <3) and Arno's pistol for range.
- This time, we got specialization. You can focus your Arno on any class you want; Melee, Range, Health, Stealth. All are pretty self-explanatory.
- Microtransactions doesn't push too much on your face. Still not acceptable though. Money can still easily generated through cafe revenue and chests. It only need grinding for earlier part of the game, just like previous AC games.
- Lockpicking is one of the new thing added. Mechanics are easy but can be very frustating depending in your lockpicking skill level.
- Detective mission is new in AC games and quite fun too. You go to a crime scene, find clues and accuse the killer. If got wrong then you'll get less reward.
- Exploration in the game is fun and rewarding. Certain times you'll get street events that will unlock rewards once you cleared enough events. Some collectibles can only be unlocked on map by exploring and using Eagle Vision. And of course you get to see NPC is their "daily life". If you got into a fight, some of the civilians will join you with a blade on their hands O_O
- Coop is fun. It's separated from main story so it won't affect your story progress. You can do quick match or invite your friend in Uplay to do the coop mission.
- They did some changes to parkour. Now we got "Descend" button so you can go down with style. New movement like sliding under table or jump over obstacle looks smooth and fluid.
- Uplay rewards now give you equipments, Helix credits and even the game's soundtrack


I might missed a few points though :3

best moment with Companion app:

> found a chest, need to unlock via app
> do the glyph, unlock nomad mission
> complete 3 mission, 1 chest unlocked
> need to wait 24 hours to get the chest
> chest finally unlocked
> chest opened, received 200 livres
> ........... ..
> uninstall app
