Speaking from experience, my spm results were not that impressive as compared to others but still, got aggregate 17. tongue.gif

Take any AutoCAD class (basic/medium/expert) at any local college/U. Back then, 10 weeks course (only 3 days per week) from zero knowledge to understanding and mastering basic drawing/drafting.

Then, try to apply job as draftperson at any consultant firm (architecture/engineer/QS/etc). Work hard, go up from junior to senior (or whatever higher rank possible with ur spm results).

And no, I didn't finish my dip/deg due to family emergency issues back then, but considerating to further studies this year *hopefully*.

Additional bonus:
If u can do sketchup, u can convert 2D cad plans into sketchup 3D.
And, can touchup image with photoshop (or whatever image editor).

Even with SPM, it is hard to get a normal/fresh/entry level desk job. The world is indeed cruel and tough.

seems like people forget on the prospect offered from oil and gas sector. without good result, you cannot go to your desired course but in oil and gas, not everybody onboard the oil platform or work barges need all the degrees.

you can offer yourself to work in the galley (kitchen) or become the steward. if you are daredevil, you can become the rigger. initially, life will be very hard but when you already gain experience and gain CONTACTS, you can easily secure other position, even without the papers.. this is because you can continue your education while working.

if you are more ambitious, befriend with people from the ROV operation. learn from them. gather money and go for related courses. i tell you, these guys is handsomely paid among the offshore crews..

i know a person who started only as a tukang sapu at oil and gas fabrication yard. now already a specialist. important thing is that, you need to be willing to learn and to work safely. why? if you die, your progress stops there.

Heard of this OSSD programme before? You can check this out and find out more. Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Unsure if it's Level 11 or Level 12 that is similar with our SPM. You can take the SPM subjects you failed and move on.... Good luck! icon_idea.gif

same goes to Akademi CIDB (similar level to SKM courses).
eg. sijil in pelukis pelan (architecture or ME). level 2, 3 autocad. short term courses 6 - 18 months with accredited exams.
can start work as junior draughtsman.
or continue at advanced level (diploma) at politeknik.
those with good design skills, fast autocad draughting work, photoshop/V-ray rendering skills can work as assistant arkitek / render artist.

CIDB also are good for getting a job thumbup.gif
draftsmen also can get good pay biggrin.gif

lol, people like to quote/refer to failure to success stories like bill gates. but how many of succeed like these few people? Malaysia should be filled with billionaires if this is true.

But its okay, kita ada banyak tongkat. kita tolong kawan-kawan. kita sama-sama musnahkan Malangsia.
