The path for those who excelled in their SPM get to proceed to vast variety of choices, starting from going straight to work, or to continue with STPM or take A Levels, Canadian Matriculation or Australian High School Matriculation (e.g. SAM, AUSMAT) or even the classic A levels.

How bout for those who FAILED SPM? Failed BM, failed Sejarah (History)? What they are facing now is literally uncertainty, they certainly don't wish to go out into the society and work right?

So my question is: What can they study? Or they should retake SPM?

I hope that this thread serves as a guide to those flunked their SPM smile.gif

Good suggestions:

re-sit BM/Math/compulsory subject to pass.

Then apply for short course/ certificate/skilled-labour.

Or earn work experience first to identify self potential.

Frankly, only those who go to vocational schools will control the world some day.

You think having an engineering or IT degree will guarantee you steady income? It is not everyday that an engineer or an IT gal will be needed to perform tasks. However, there will ALWAYS be roof leaks that needs patching, pipes that need plumbing and cars that needs fixing, and orchards that need farming.

Speaking from experience, my spm results were not that impressive as compared to others but still, got aggregate 17. tongue.gif

Take any AutoCAD class (basic/medium/expert) at any local college/U. Back then, 10 weeks course (only 3 days per week) from zero knowledge to understanding and mastering basic drawing/drafting.

Then, try to apply job as draftperson at any consultant firm (architecture/engineer/QS/etc). Work hard, go up from junior to senior (or whatever higher rank possible with ur spm results).

And no, I didn't finish my dip/deg due to family emergency issues back then, but considerating to further studies this year *hopefully*.

Additional bonus:
If u can do sketchup, u can convert 2D cad plans into sketchup 3D.
And, can touchup image with photoshop (or whatever image editor).

well, academic success is not everything.

and while academically successful people are viewed more preferably, the fact remains that the world need people with non pure-academic skill.

electrician, carpentry, motor vehicle maintenance and etc.

such job might seem laborious and un-glamour, fact stands that my trusted electrician/wayar man earns a five digits income now.

no doubt he started small and have to do all the work himself, but slowly he was able to built up reputation and wealth.

and technically, he is more useful and needed in society in comparison to lawyer, banker and politician.

this people with real skills, are the one we need when zombie strike.

unless you're planning to sue the zombie for eating your friend's and family's brain!

haha

After u go foundation/diploma/degree, no one give a shit on your spm, unless you poorfag no money go uni/col then need stpm. But with ptptn nowadays, money are not factor anymore. Just that whether you want or duwan go uni only.

Seek apprenticeship from trade schools. Learn a trade or two(fixing aircon, carpentry, mechanics, plumbing)

Then after master it, charge bloodsucking price to those that think their tertiary education means something.

But then I was looking at Taylors and Sunway's website, most of their courses that they offer require a certain amount of credit or grades to enter.
