Hi there. Looking for a netbook/notebook for college.

1. Preferred Brand : Anything reliable, preferably not Acer. (Have seen people have bad experiences with that brand)
2. Budget : 1k - 1.5k
3. Usage : Word-processing, Internet-surfing. (No lag please)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : 12"-13" maybe? As long as it's easy to carry around.

Thanks a lot.

What about ASUS S200E? Is that model reliable and how about the cooling system?

Not as good as the ones recommended to you since its running on a normal HDD, which is slower nod.gif

But I'm not a big fan of W8 or those convertibles and touchscreen is unnecessary. ):

Hi there I'm back with a slightly different preference.

1. Preferred Brand : Anything except ASUS, Acer and Apple
2. Budget : <2k
3. Usage : College (business) so word-processing and Internet (strong wi-fi) as well as a clear camera for video calls.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : 14-inch and below.

Additional request: Long battery-life, backlit keyboard, light and portable since I'll be carrying it and walking A LOT.

Thanks again sifus. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Don't think you'll be able to get a notebook with backlit keyboard for your budget unfortunately hmm.gif
Aprt from this one:

Hmm. What if I take that option out? Will it open up to more choices? hmm.gif As I said, trying to avoid Asus and Acer.
