Guys I am back again lol, last time asked but didn't buy because was waiting.

1. Preferred Brand: Any except for ASUS.
2. Budget : RM2k - 2.5k, dont mind topping up a bit more.
3. Usage: College, studies for sister.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 14" or less. The lighter the better thus prefer around 13 - 14" screen size.

Is there any other models that I am missing out? Actually wanted to get ASUS k451lb but changed my mind on ASUS. Thought of topping up for lenovo U430T but everywhere in digital mall seems to be out of stock. Flex 14 is out of the list because sister dislike the design.

Now I am deciding between Dell Inspiron 14 & Inspiron 14R due to dell great warranty support. What do you guys think between these two model, especially the Inspiron 14? Price is cheap, seems like a good buy only downside is the battery life I guess. http://www.dell.com/my/p/inspiron-14-3437/...nspiron-14-3437

Does this model suffer from wifi issue like vostro 5470?

Inspiron models are free of wifi issue.

why dont you try PM devour or numbertwo for the U430T? they are reputable sellers in this forum and maybe they still have stocks.

Sorry, after the incident with devour, I will never buy things from him anymore. Yeah will try to contact numbertwo or just purchase it directly from dell website smile.gif Might just get that model & replace the hdd with an ssd. Should be perfect I guess.

The dell website says it comes with 4cell battery & 6cell is optional but I can't find anyway to add 6cell battery during the customization rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

oh, what happened between you and him? as my POV towards devour is positive. hmm.gif

by the way, try talk with Dell's sales representative via online chat, see if they do it as Dell Malaysia's site is missing out a lot.

Prefer not to talk about it, dont want to spoil his "reputation". Don't really think that is a wise thing to do as a seller myself. Just some issue with after-sales service, nothing big deal.

That's a good idea, I shall try to talk to them tomorrow. Last time I remember someone mention can get promo code by chatting with them but the notebook price is quite cheap already, not sure if can get any discount on that or not laugh.gif Maybe they have some kind of student promo since I am buying for my sis anyways hmm.gif

I think you guys should also mention to the students here if they are looking to get dell laptop they can contact dell chat to order via them & get student rate.

I just ordered Inspiron 14R (linux + i5 + 2years warranty) for RM1925 (student rate). Its a pretty good deal I would say hmm.gif

Yeah, we often tell people that the prices on Dell websites are RRP... you can actually get a much cheaper price if you buy from LYN sellers like putochip123 and viper88 etc., or bargain online with multiple Dell online sales agents nod.gif
Not hard to get good prices by doing that haha, just that most people are shy/lazy and don't want to do it  sweat.gif

Its not student price la haha, just best price  icon_rolleyes.gif Don't have to be a student to get it~

Got student rate they told me (donno true or not la) coz they asked for the student email, details will be sent over that email.
