Hey experts, I'm not very good at choosing one, would appreciate a genuine opinion for an ultrabook.

1. Preferred Brand : No particular preference
2. Budget : ~3k
3. Usage : Business/on-the-go/general use
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : ~14 inch, ~15.6

Additional request: reasonably good battery life, backlit keyboard, at least 1600x900 resolution, ssd, dedicated gpu)

Thanks in advance.

Pretty much this one if need at least HD+ resolution
14"
Lenovo U430T, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT730M + (1600x900; touch)+ 8GB SSHD + 500GB HDD@RM2799, 4GB, W8, 2 yrs

*Price in RRP

Can consider this one as well if screen resolution is very important to you:
14"
Dell Inspiron 14 7000, i7-4500U + Intel HD4400 + (1920x1080; Touch) @RM3399[1.99kg], 6GB (soldered), 500GB (5400rpm), W8.1, backlit keyboard, 58Whr, No ODD

Try to look for bro putochip123 and see how much he can offer for this unit, should be able to get close, if not lower than RM3k icon_rolleyes.gif
No SSD and dGPU (not needed if you are not gaming) though laugh.gif
*
Hey there, appreciate your suggestions and the lenovo model was particularly eye opening. As much as I have a desktop ready for gaming, having a dGPU just gives me a sense of readiness in case I just need to play my games there. What do you think about Y510p? Doesn't seem like an ultrabook..but thin enough it would seem.

I particularly like the Inspiron 14 7000 design smile.gif

I think the S410p doesn't fulfil your initial requirements as well?  hmm.gif
Y510p is not even close to an ultrabook man laugh.gif
The Lenovo U430 seems just right for your requirements  hmm.gif

You are right, I think it is just right for my requirements. I can't seem to be able to find U430 around the market here, and I am confused at the Lenovo Malaysia site when it says it has two variant of 1600x900 and 1900x1080 reso though.
