both also looks same to me. everyday will have different value because different usage.
most night time will have a steep curve because stream music to bluetooth speaker.

theoretically slimkat suppose have better battery life because when i use it it already have after call drain fix.
tamesek one is older than slimkat and dont have the fix. but in real life, look at the pattern both seems same only.

Bos, I got hit by the camera error eventhou I already flash the
"Fixed_Camera_for_CM_All_AOSP_roms_by_RohanAJoshi_V3.0" . Can advice? For the time being, I flash the fix it again.

Battery life for Kit kat 4.4.2 as of today (after the kernel tweak) almost similar with Imperium Rom. Will monitor again today.

hang on a sec. i writing a guide for this.
kesian with people keep getting this error while i'm been free from it for so long.

the solution for camera is already there. just that the person that make the fix keep add new version that add more issue.

this will be my first complete guide to fix this. TS can pin this since it's been asked so many times

first some basic intro:

"cant connect to camera" error will be abbreviated as "CCTC", this happen due to open source hal that is being used.

CCTC will happen on 2 occations.
1. randomly when you launch camera
2. when you snap way to fast in continuous picture focus mode. keep spamming the shutter button and the shutter button will stop responding. unable to press back to quit app. press home and relaunch camera, you'll get CCTC

latest aosp rom seems to get rid of CCTC due to reason 2. but due to reason 1 still happens, although rare but it still happen.

if you are interested to keep original rom camera and use photosphere camera at the same time. follow steps below
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

if you dont care about the fix replacing your roms camera app, then just flash the v2.3 fix
most important thing from the fix is
/system/lib/hw/camera.smdk4x12.so
doesnt matter what camera app you plan to use.
you can also open the v2.3 zip and copy this to the correct folder. and set permission to rwrr

v3 and v4, i still get CCTC when i snap too fast.
so it defeats the purpose and i stick to v2.3

i keep snapping pictures continuously for around 10 shots. i dont see the camera jams or CCTC. maybe slimkat already included the fix. not sure....but the stock camera app is great on slimkat. anyone having issues do follow mtxx solution...

have u guys tried other camera app?? camera zoom fx?
*
u spam not kuat enough.
i spam very very fast, at 40+ shot it CCTC already.
of course real life scenerio no one press the shutter that fast, but still, people do complain CCTC error in slim thread. so i guess random CCTC still happen during camera launch.

One word says all "compromised"

WOW just set Boeffla preset to Power performance and Slimkat 4.4.2 V4 is very snappy smile.gif ... now waiting for the ZeroLemon 7000mAH battery so that I can run at this mode all the time. Like an upgraded phone  rclxms.gif
*
I try set to power performance preset also.
I feel like same only. No difference also.
Web page load time same only. Scrolling in xda still lots of empty white space that slowly appear.

Only in benchmark it show difference. Real life didn't feel big difference. Maybe need get another s3 test side by side only know.

I move over to note 3 already.

It is insanely fast. The only thing limiting my speed is the lack of nav bar. Pressing a hardware home button is so slow and annoying.

Thanks to key rebinding, my menu button is now home button.
Kinda become like the first gen HTC one. Lol...

Thanks for the reply boonseng

When playing with note 3, I realize twrp nandroid backup took longer than s3.

This is weird because note 3 should be faster.

When I check the size I found out the reason.
Nandroid backup size of s3 slimkat around 2.2GB

But on stock tw note3 nandroid size is 3.4GB
Freakin huge....

i downloaded the 4.1.3 driver, used odin 3.09 to flash the phone. now the samsung logo keep on restarting.. OMG
*
If you manage to to download mode then nothing to worry.

Use Odin flash a official stock rom.
It might bootloop due to most stock rom is non wipe rom
Whatever script or error still exist in internal storage.

Manually enter the stock recovery mode
Factory reset and wipe internal storage from there

Confirm fresh booth without problem.

how is temasek? better?  smile.gif

Just stick to one rom la. Keep changing between aosp rom waste alot of time and doesn't really benefit much.
They are both very similar.

wonder when can I have the reason to change phone lol, wait till octa core, cause jumping from one quadcore to another quad is just sidegrades, which i think isn't that much death defying, all they play now is camera pixels and features that i might not or will not use. does even whatsapp or fb or instagram be able to potray the humungous pixelling in the new phone era? don't think so, all will be mega compressed, so screw that 10+ MP camera. only the "not so educated" will fall for that trick, not me
*
Number of cores doesn't guarantee performance.
Is how good each cores is that matters.

Snapdragon 800 with more than 2gb of ram is near ios smoothness.
You can certainly tell the difference instantly when scrolling and loading pages in Chrome. Newer snapdragon 801 and upcoming 805 should exceed ios in smoothness.

Using 720p isn't bad. But once u are used to 1080p, looking back at 720p you'll feel the text is less sharp.

Camera is not only about the mega pixels.
2013 phones have good camera sharpness but bad color
Nexus 5 produces great photos with very pleasant colors with its hdr+. But it's slow to capture.
s4 made huge improvement in camera.
For practical usage, it's focus speed is extremely quick.
And more impressive is the live hdr mode. It doesn't snap multiple pic to process. It already processed in the view finder. What u see is what u get. And the hdr image quality is excellent, not just the sharpness, but the colors. Outdoor photos will look stunning

Technology is constantly improving.
If you don't care and don't mind about speed and camera quality.
Then you'll be satisfied with any phone. Good for you smile.gif

But saying there is no improvement in mobile tech is plain silly.
U forgot to mention about battery life. The s3 stock battery life is moderate at best. It score 45 in gsm arena battery test. Only with the 3000mah battery it is up to par with 2014 flagship device.

Most new features that u find gimmicky, once you get used to it
You'll start wondering how cn u live without it. (good fast and accurate color camera, high resolution screen, better smoothness and ram, water resistance, and big increase in battery life)
