Hi all, would like to ask is the following optimized ? budget around 3k-3.5k

cpu = Intel Core I7 4770
Mobo = asrock z87 extreme 3
Ram = Gskill ripjaws 2x4gb 2133mhz
Gpu = Sapphire r9 270x dual 2gb DDR5
Psu = Sapphire s12 II 620w
Hdd = WD 1TB cavier blue
Chasis = Cm storm enforcer / nzxt phantom 410 white
Odd = Liteon 24x Sata
Cooler = CM tx3 evo / Sapphire VaporX

Im using the rig for gaming (high setting) and also autocad works (civil3D). Some of the spec i put 2 type is so that there's option to choose to maximize my budget. Im not into OC [ noob in this=) ]

*edit (if possible the price to get from 1 place, cause im at sarawak, thinking to post the whole rig here )

No... if you are not overclocking just stick to a Xeon and H87/B85 board...
and up the GPU to a GTX760/770/R9 280X...

No point going with a CPU cooler as well, as well as high speed RAMs as Haswell CPUs do not take advantage of them. tongue.gif  No SSDs? icon_idea.gif

Here's one :

Intel Xeon E3-1230v3 3.3GHz RM799
Asrock B85 Killer mainboard RM299
G.Skill Aegis 1600MHz 8GB x2 RM478
Gainward GTX660 Dual Fan 2GB RM639
Seasonic S12 II 620W PSU RM299
WD Caviar Blue 1TB HDD RM189
CM Storm Scout II case RM279
Liteon 24x DVDRW RM59

Total - RM3529.00 from Idealtech.

Thanks for the recommendation thumbup.gif . Based on the setup im planning, im kinda limited on my budget so not going for SSD, maybe future. I thought of Cpu cooler cause Autocad Civil3D is a cpu intensive programme especially when im doing 3D modeling. Still cooler is better.

Is H87/B85 future proof as im not planning to build another rig in 5 to 10 years time. Also, is xeon good for gaming? I would like to play hard while work hard too... brows.gif

for RAM, can i go for Gskill Ripjaws 1833MHz 4gbx2 instead? i like the aesthetic look..paired with B85 killer hmm.gif if B85 killer does not support up to 1833MHz, what will happen?

LEL, CPU cooler won't magically improve the improvement.

I do catch your point, but intel's stock cooler also work almost perfectly with stock clock.

Ya i know CPU cooler will not increase the performance. Just that when i run the programme, it will cause the cpu to work harder thus getting hotter. So thats y i opt for cooler..hehe other than looks nicer than stock tongue.gif

Cooler just cools. Only lower the tempt. No big significance tho. Xeon is good for gaming and rendering aswell. Just go with Value RAM. I don't think higher clock RAM is that big difference when rendering with a 1600 MHz RAM.
*
Xeon it is then. Thanks bro biggrin.gif . But like i said, i wana play hard while work hard. So, higher clock ram might help on gaming, no? I donno whether the ram underutilized by the mobo..

I do catch your point, but intel's stock cooler also work almost perfectly with stock clock. You won't need to fear bout overheat sort of problem at all as log as your case ventilation is good enough.

Nope, no mobo is future proof, be it those RM few k one also won't. Just grab it according to your needs.

If you think you want those "performance ram" for the aesthetic, then go ahead, no real disadvantage apart from being on the pricy side and may be some buyer remorse after DDR4 come out.

B85 should be able to run 1833mhz ram, not too sure, better double confirm. But worse, you can always under clock it and make it work in 1600mhz, which is guaranteed to be working.
*
thanks for the Ram part..yea i indeed only go for Ripjaws due to aesthetic. As long as it works fine then im good with Ripjaws. The mobo looks good too, so since you said no such future proof thingy then i will stick to B85 killer. Thanks man biggrin.gif

Nope only certain games utilizes it but 1600MHz 8GB RAM is good enough. Like Human10 said. For rendering you might want a higher capacity RAM. In gaming higher clock won't do much. So yeah, just go with a 8GB or 16GB 1600MHz RAM.

not need 1866mhz or 2133mhz on b85.

it can boot. but the speed will reverse to 1600mhz.
*
Noted, thanks guys. notworthy.gif My bro have a gskill ripjaws 1600Mhz 4x2gb blue color. Any idea whether there is any 8GB 1600MHz red color?
