Good evening. Need help with my custom gonna-be rig specification.
Intel i7 4770k processor. 16GB Kingston hyper x RAM. 120GB Hyper x SSD. 1TB HDD. Sapphire HD 7870 (reusing)
What mobo, psu ,casing and cooling system should I use to fit this spec? ( gonna make it dual gpu next month , crossfire.) My budget is around 4.3k including 23 inch monitor (still on consideration) Could someone total up how much this spec cost?
about casing, I might love to have a compact one. Thanks in advance.
Do you plan to overclock your CPU? Note that you do not need liquid cooling, and air coolers can be better than liquid coolers thermal and acoustic-wise...
I don't know this OC stuff. but I would love to try
encikapat, although it seems like a good idea to CrossFireX your GPU, but the stability of multi-GPU set ups are not very good, and you might have issues when playing the latest games, and will always need to latest drivers.
If you want to get more performance, consider selling your current GPU on LYN, and then with the added cash, buy a better discrete GPU, like a GTX750Ti for less than RM600, or a GTX760 for less than RM900.
You will have more fun playing games, instead of trying to fix things with a higher end single discrete GPU compared to CrossFireX.
Thank you for the opinion. I am still recalculate my budget, since I don't know the item price. I would like to have nvidia gc since my current amd gc giving so much driver problem. But of course,if I had enough budget.
Without monitor will be RM 3,584. All the prices from Viewnet except PSU,GPU and Casing from GBros.
Wow! Thanks. I have been waiting for this How about an i7 since i would be using this rig for another 10 years. I had been using core 2 quad setup for about 10 years already.haha
The 4670K is basically a non hyperthread version of the 4770K. So it works just as well for games or general usage and will last you a long time
But if you require more juice for multiple programs, then get the 4770 (non K version). Plug and play out of the box hyper threading. But without OCing. Which is you want to use for the long run is better anyhow since you're not overclocking for benchmarking purposes.
But if you still want to OC plus an i7 you'll have to sacrifice some of the monitor budget or get a cheaper GPU.
Thanks you. Btw i can add another few hundred into my budget.
Then be able to make some additions. My take on Zgames's recommendation. Proc - Intel Core i7-4770K RM1050 Mobo - Asrock Z87M Pro 4 RM 349 GPU - Gainward GTX770 Phantom OC 2GB RM1,430 PSU - FSP Raider 650w RM 270 HDD - 1TB WD Blue RM 189 RAM - 8GB RAM RM 239 Casing - NZXT Source 210 RM159 SSD - Samsung 840 EVO 120GB RM320 Screen - Asus VX239H RM699 (Great 1080p IPS screen.) Total: RM4705.
You can still stick to the Zotac GTX770 if you wanna save some cash, or use the saved money to get a PH-TC14CS CPU Cooler from GBros at RM240. Comes it four different fantastic fan colors and it's a good complement to your OCed 4770K.
