[Budget] - around RM2000, but trying to get as cheap as possible
[Purpose] - distributed rendering NODE - CPU rendering

I had in mind the following stuff, just looking for any constructive input. hmm.gif
I am wondering if best just get FX8320 which cost around RM530 and overclock it?
I don't have much experience on CPU matter.

Fractal Design Core1000 mATX chassis - RM170 (I like the minimalistic of it)
AMD FX8350 AM3+ 4.2Ghz OctaCore - RM669
Asrock 960GC-GS mATX AM3+ mobo - RM179 (oh Gawd why no ITX board... cry.gif )
Corsair 550W VS550 PSU - RM209 (in case of expand GPU and stuff)
CoolerMaster Hyper 212X CPU cooler - RM125
Western Digital 1TB HDD - RM189
Kingston KVR 8Gb x2 DDR3 1600 - RM490 (12GB is bare minimum...)
Cheap USB Wi-Fi dongle - RM29

RM2060

Wrong choice on the CPU and board.  For FX-8xxx builds, it is recommended to get an ATX board, mainly the fact that only ATX boards have proper VRMs for powering the CPU.  Note that a weak VRM would throttle the CPU, and in rare cases, causes the VRM to fail.  The only way to do so is to go with a Xeon/i7 build, as they have much lower power requirements.

I see hmm.gif didn't know there will be such hardware issue. Definitely need a reliable system as it can be stressing for days.
Yes I also trying to keep it small so was thinking about ITX.

VRM throttling/failures is no joke, though.  There are several members who encountered VRM throttling issues.  Here's some: tongue.gif

Thanks for info notworthy.gif

How about ITX board like Asrock B85M-ITX mainboard posted by cable707 above? (2x DIMM slots though, should be suffice)
Is it reliable to keep 4770 running and don't have any crazy issue?

mATX maybe still OK, considering ITX chassis may cost a little most after all. But both form factor are possible choices regardless.

quick question, will anyone actually want to use a AMD A10/A8 for gaming? As far as I acknowledge it is something R7 240/ R7 250?
My friend just went to a local shop and he got a list below which i am thinking it is kinda underwhelming... hmm.gif

A10 7770k - 589
8GB ram - 263
Asus A88XM-A - 319
CM casing N400 - 229
psu not listed
1TB hdd - 219
zalman cooler - 149

1768

.........

I am thinking better grab i3 + R9 270 if under RM2000. hmm.gif
