what the different about amd FX 6350 and Core i5 4440.
*
FX6350 have 6 Cores,the Core i5 4440 have 4 Cores and 4 Threads.
Even though the FX6350 has more cores,it only beats the i3 4130 by just .01.. tongue.gif
i3 4130 vs FX6350 http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/356/AMD_F...i3_i3-4130.html

i5 4440 vs FX6350 http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/364/AMD_F...i5_i5-4440.html

Plus,Intel CPUs have lower power consumption.. :nod
Let's say,if you're going to get AMD FX8320 and MSI 970A-G43 motherboard,it's gonna be a bad decision.Since AMD FX8320 is a power hungry CPU,you need a Mobo with good VRM cooling(Is that how do you say it? unsure.gif ),if you use the MSI 970A-G43 mobo with AMD FX8320,it'll throttle the CPU.. sweat.gif It's better to get a Mobo with 8 or 8+2 VRM phase counts if u're gonna use AMD FX8xxx series and above. wink.gif

Here's more info about AMD CPUs motherboard VRM. wink.gif http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-moth...m-info-database

The Corsair CX series I think is obsolete now.  If you are budget oriented, I would buy a CoolerMaster PSU today, if you are quality oriented, then Seasonic is the best in my opinion.
*
A good entry level PSU..FSP Hexa 500W. wink.gif
CoolerMaster entry level/low end PSUs normally have problems.. sweat.gif Like Elite Power,Extreme2 and Extreme Power Plus... shakehead.gif

Hi everyone! New here, and wanting to try my hand at building PCs.

Budget: RM3k~3.5k

Purpose: Gaming, art/photo-editing (Photoshop), watching shows

Hardware to re-use: Keyboard and mouse, external DAC+amp (Schiit Modi and Magni)

Monitor resolution: 1080p, 1920x1200

Games & Software used frequently: DOTA2, Mass Effect trilogy, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, Mozilla Firefox. Currently playing Arkham Asylum, with a backlog of Arkham City, Assassin's Creed Revelations, DmC, Tomb Raider and Fallout.

Personal preferences: Should be able to run Frostbite 3 games (can't wait until DA:Inquisition and Mass Effect 4 are out! biggrin.gif), but I don't mind if I can't run them at ultra settings. Will also need wireless card.

QUOTE(M1X @ Mar 23 2014, 10:55 PM)
quick question, will anyone actually want to use a AMD A10/A8 for gaming? As far as I acknowledge it is something R7 240/ R7 250?
My friend just went to a local shop and he got a list below which i am thinking it is kinda underwhelming...  hmm.gif

A10 7770k - 589
8GB ram - 263
Asus A88XM-A - 319
CM casing N400 - 229
psu not listed
1TB hdd - 219
zalman cooler - 149

1768

.........

I am thinking better grab i3 + R9 270 if under RM2000.  hmm.gif
*
I would get this instead.

CPU:Intel Core i3 4130 3.4GHz RM369
Mobo:Asrock B85M-Pro4 RM279
GPU:Sapphire R9 270 + BF4 2GB GDDR5 RM649

Casing:CM K380 RM149
ODD:Liteon 24x DVDRW RM59
Total:RM2082

I'd only get APUs if my budget is tight,or i wanna build a HTPC.. wink.gif

Actually, Asus GPUs tend to be more expensive, but it is often for a good reason. They are usually very solid, have superb cooling solution and an extra year of warranty from what we usually recommend here. smile.gif

It's sad that our local pricing for Asus is on the high side here, hence most of the time we need to stick to recommending those more affordable brands like Sapphire, Leadtek or Gainward. But if there is very marginal difference in pricing compared to Asus, then the choice is really clear.

I think that is probably a design limitation on their part. Noticed that the clock speed isn't any faster than the regular DCUII 290X, but how come temperature increased by so much? Really mind boggling.

Overall, DCUII are among the better ones out there and I stand by this point, having run so many cards before, I really find them to be significantly superior when you compare them with those more economical solutions that I mentioned earlier. You try comparing DCUII with Dual-X and you will understand what I mean.
*
I noticed that,it kinda makes me think Asus favours NVidia more than AMD.. biggrin.gif

Yup,DCUII are also fine. nod.gif

Latest collection,Zotac GTX780 AMP! ?Saw that on your siggy.. tongue.gif

EDIT reply:If Asus makes new DCUII cooler for Hawaii GPUs,then it will cost some money. hmm.gif If the Hawaii is the same size as GK110,then i think it could be..fine. hmm.gif
