I trust Everest more than CPU-z... CPU-z gila program.. Last time it showed my pentium 4 using 2.3v... Now use on AM2.. Cannot start sometimes.. Straight away delete it..

Sempron 3000+ 1.60Ghz @ 1.940Ghz ( Default Vcore ) Biostar T550 Mushkin 1gb DDR667
Above is my spec.. Why my Proc can't OC over 2Ghz? When enter windows straight restart.. 1.940Ghz idle temperature is 25~27c.. Full load not over 40c.. I tot can go more?

Problem solved.. I just wondering.. It is better to run at :- Proc : 1.96 Ghz Ram : DDR764 OR Proc : 2Ghz Ram : DDR667 MY PC cannot go higher than that already.. This post has been edited by Amedion: Apr 5 2007, 03:37 PM

QUOTE(byfc2010 @ Apr 6 2007, 02:35 PM) [/spoiler] higher vdimm for higher timing i guess... Now only feeding 2v.. Max is 2.1v.. Still running on Prime95.. No problem so far.. Later wanna add till 900Mhz see how.. Other thing that I want to know.. Timing or Freq .. Which is more important? Heard people said Freq.. If i want OC my processor higher.. Then i have to set the divider to CPU/6.. Which means the RAM running at 3xx MHz.. I have to OC my processor till 2.5Ghz to achive 417Mhz on RAM which i don't think possible..

QUOTE(zamree7 @ Apr 6 2007, 03:17 PM) aiseh bro.. same like me ler.. Already post this kind of problem before, also can't use the DDR800 divider on this Biostar 570u.. still waiting if there is any bios update or modded bios for this mobo.. ur ram timing is ok.. summore u already OC your ram from DDR667 to DDR834.. maybe if u want to use tighter timing so need to feed more vdimm.. Tighter timing better? I tested 3-4-4-8-12 @ DDR667 .. score around 5155mb/s reading Now on 5-5-5-18-21 @ DDR8xx .. Score around 6k+ mb/s reading I guess i'll do more research and testing first..

QUOTE(soulfly @ Apr 6 2007, 06:51 PM) Amedion, try use 3dmark or pcmark for better 'overall system performance' checking. Or maybe try SuperPi 32m. Because sometimes memory bandwidth doesn't contribute much to AM2 overall performance. Used 3dmark2003.. More into 3d card i think.. I will download SuperPi 32m and try later.. QUOTE(byfc2010 @ Apr 6 2007, 06:57 PM) yea 417Mhz is alr very good at 2v...try 2.1 v c... maybe u can get 5-5-5-15-20 ... Ok.. will try later.. Prime stable after 3 hours but when i play game.. The screen freeze.. MAybe need more juice from PSU..

QUOTE(soulfly @ Apr 7 2007, 10:30 AM) 3dmark03 dooes depends a lot on 3d card... but then again, the overall performance also depends on cpu/ram combination. you can test different ram setting (speed/timing combo) and choose which one gives better points. Now i am testing everything one by one.. Very time consuming but exciting.. Anyway, my RAM only can run over 387Mhz @ 2T.. IF 1T cannot liao... Does that makes different? QUOTE(byfc2010 @ Apr 7 2007, 11:08 AM) yea i agree wif tat...btw i think am2 doesn't rely much on the ram too... Oic.. Then processor is the best lar? Now i running divider at CPU/6.. Lower the RAM Mhz first.. Push my CPu see how much Ghz it can hit @ 59c full load.. This post has been edited by Amedion: Apr 7 2007, 02:24 PM

After i changed HDD.. My PC kinda slower.. 3dmark2003 getting 10,6xx.. previously is 11,6xx..PRoblem solved after flipping SATA cable.. My RAM can run 5-5-5-5-18 @ 417 Mhz... Will put more into it later.. This post has been edited by Amedion: Apr 8 2007, 01:18 PM

If not mistaken, i saw from one DFI Memory Timings Tips. Tras = {RAS & CAS} + {RAS Precharge} + 2 Anyone? Mind to clarity?? -pWs-Maybe that is the reason why i getting 10k in 3dmark2003.. Previously i using 5-5-5-18-22.. Will try again later..

QUOTE(shinzhizu @ Apr 9 2007, 02:22 PM) eh, which one is better? Biostar t550 or t570? I plan buy 550 but my friend told me get 570..any different between them? 570 is able to be more overclock? Many people using T550 including me and soulfly ( Porn Film Producer )here.. The only different i see is :- T550 - 4 SATA Connecter.. T570U - 6 SATA Connector.. T570U - 8 Channel HD Audio.. T550 - RM 290 T570U - RM 315 T550T570UThis post has been edited by Amedion: Apr 9 2007, 05:09 PM

QUOTE(Asus @ Apr 9 2007, 08:20 PM) im a new AM2 user, im quite noob in AM2 and DDR2 setting....dont shoot me to go google to find the answer for this question la ok guys, got not enough time to do google la, whats the default vcore for the AM2 3000+ Orleans, whats the max voltage can i push with stock heatsink and regarding the ddr2, what kind of timing is tight n relax... Well, i also noob at OC and still learning.. AMD processor can easily OC very high.. Why not you download some stuff first before you OC.. ? Something like Everest Ultimate Edition ( To monitor temperature ), Prime95 ( Test if it's stable or not ), 3dmark2003 & 2005 ( For benchmark ), CPU-Z ( Check system settings all ), etc...

QUOTE(soulfly @ Apr 9 2007, 11:45 PM) default vcore is somewhere around 1.30~1.4V, while 1.20~1.25V for the EE counterpart (well you can always reconfirm this thru AMD website). My China made 3200+ defaults at 1.4V, while the Malaysia made 3000+ I've got before default at 1.35V if I still remember. JEDEC spec for DDR2 default at 1.8V. Added on April 9, 2007, 11:46 pmTF550 SE use 8Ch HD audio Audio not important for me coz my sound system only 2 speakers & one woofer. So, i go for T550.. QUOTE(Asus @ Apr 10 2007, 02:02 AM) soulfly where in amd website to check my proc default voltage? i go to the website already but dunno where to go btw at cpu-z it shows 1.264v and does this info from sandra is correct?? Don't care about the vCore first.. Push your CPu Core to 2Ghz first.. If experienced system restart or blue screen then only you add more voltage.. Normally AMD can push up to 400Mhz without touching the vCore..

QUOTE(Asus @ Apr 10 2007, 11:37 AM) owh thanks..i dload already coretemp and its stated 1.25v, will try to oc later...can tell me how to know the FSB:DRAM, i still confuse la, DDR400 = CPU/9, DDR667 = CPU/6 what about DDR 533 and DDR800 ?? That is divider.. When you OC your Processor.. Your RAM also OC as well.. CPU/5 Means your processor corespeed .. 1800Mhz / 5 .. You get 360mhz in RAM.. You must double the value in DDR means running at 720Mhz liao.. IF your processor can overclock higher and your RAM cannot.. Then you have to use CPU/6 or CPU/7.. Anyway, saw ur signature.. Micron.. Can hit 900Mhz easily..

Added on April 10, 2007, 9:32 pmso tat means my X2 core has fixed multiplier, n i had set my ram to ddr533 divider... then my rig won't go unstable lar?oni the core speed n ram speed drop right? My RAM cannot use CPu/6 or CPU/8 divider lar.. Only CPU/5.. IF i OC my processor to 2.4Ghz.. Gonna burn the RAM liao lor.. Soulfly, any idea since you use T550 also? You can use DDR533?

QUOTE(soulfly @ Apr 11 2007, 12:09 PM) try update your mobo BIOS... my idea is probably the mobo detects the 256KB L2 cache as "sempron" type cpu.... hence it downclocks the hypertransport to 800mhz Bro, you tried the 2.4V jumper setting before?
