Hey guys! I been lifting since 3 years ago and lately, i been getting a sharp pain in both my forearm since 2 months ago and still have been continuing my usual workouts, while withholding the pain. It doesn't hurt when I'm putting tensions on the muscle while training but it hurts when i release the contractions. Even if its on my rest day, I could feel that pain whenever I press on that area(between the bone and muscle) I have done several research online and it shows that im having forearm splints. Most of the pain are from various strength exercises such as bench press, rope pull down and bicep curls, and it hurts a lot more if I release the weight slowly. So my question here is , how long should I avoid the gym to give it some time to recover and I heard that it's quite common among builders in certain period of time . Is is true? Im 18 yrs old and i would prefer to avoid much ''off days'' if possible. Hope to receive guidance from y'all in this especially from those who have such experience before notworthy.gif flex.gif

The last time I had a forearm splint I had to rest for a week. And that's when I learnt that lifting too heavy (far more than I can handle) isn't always good for me heh.

Mine was so bad I couldn't straighten my arms, both of em'. Even sleeping was a hard task!

Hey bro! Sorry for the late reply. Fell sick these days sad.gif does the pain recovered fully or just decreased? I have skipped the gym for 6 days now as I fell sick but it still hurts when I press on the spot where it hurt most. Mine isn't as serious as urs since I could still straighten my arm, few hours later after workout.

hi bro, had this issue before - the main reason is because some muscles are not as strong as others causing heavy strain. Try lowering the weights first to something more comfortable and work on em. Eat more carbs to get your muscles healed as well.

After about a week the pain went away fully. smile.gif After that incident I am very careful with how much I can handle. Light weights also never mind, no need to be embarrassed. Hope you feel better and get back into the gym soon.

Thx for ur guidance bro! Could be my forearm that is weaker since I do feel a whole lot of pressure on it compared to my biceps & triceps while doing bench press. May I know how long did it take for u to recover fully?

I didnt work my arms for about 4 days - your forearm should not feel so much pressure when doing bench press by right - better check your arm position first , probably you are curling your arm unnecessarily when doing bench press.

Google up ice/heat treatments. Get a wrist wrap. Do wrist warm ups and stretches.
