i bought 0-40 instead.... hmm.gif

That's rare, all SCs and Petronas stations I've been only sell those two that I mentioned hmm.gif

Anyway the winter rating is not important, so I always opt for the lowest high temperature rating for new engine (which in Proton compulsory case, 30) biggrin.gif

Why u say proton compulsory? Do u know most proton sc uses Syntium 1000 which is 15W50. Its up to u whether u want high temp protection or better fuel economy..
*
Err, I meant Proton make it compulsory to purchase the EO at their SC, only the COSE accepts your own EO smile.gif

I too had encountered the infamous kruk kruk sound. At that time, I judged it because of the tight rear suspension. I drive mostly alone with no passengers, so what I did was get on the backseat, and humped the seat up and down laugh.gif There was then a loud sound, it was like whatever metal parts that caused the sound had finally settled in place biggrin.gif

Others had reported that the metal rod under the bonnet as one of the caused.

I hope you really mean the 'don't care much about fuel consumption' statement, because from Viva to a C segment car, the FC difference will really be that obvious.

Is it really that bad of fuel consumption for both of the models? sad.gif
*
It's not bad, it's normal for a car of its class and engine (Civic, Altis, Mazda 3, Sylphy, Elantra etc), but when you compare it to a light and compact car like Viva, then you will feel the pain.

I am now using Shell HX7 10W-40 (5,000km change)... and I also can't feel it's heavier compare to 30...

I think it does provide better protection compare to 30 and might stick to it

Next 10,000km change will to Fully 5W-40
*
I believe the general rule of thumb is, gradually change into thicker oil as the car age goes.

Only chance is by any owner you know.. and if he/she is willing....

Some SA will give you test drive if they know anyone have & willing to "borrow" for awhile.
Sometimes they take customer's car (where new customer yet to collect)....  shocking.gif
*
Luckily, when I picked up my car, the odometer was only 7 or 8km, so I don't think mine was borrowed as a test drive unit biggrin.gif

i read the above review, mostly ppl recommend this car as the safety feature... and all complaint is the service center attitude and professional level... and service car normally takes almost a day to complete and facing parts issue ? really? local car local parts even 3S also hv stock problem ?
*
I feel the issue with service center shouldn't heavily affect the reviews of the car (but it still remains as one of the considerations).

My local SC provides relatively good services, phone call, accurate appointment time, free drinks, wifi, and most importantly normal service usually takes 1-2 hours only.

Sifus,
does anyone have quick answer for me. hope this not ignoring.... my bad  cry.gif
thx.

I think in the previous thread, someone contacted Proton and they did say that the car basically comes with 3 years warranty, 5 years are only for some parts which they did not tell which one.

thx a lot Sifu. But then my concern is whether we should received the additional 2 yrs warranty confirmation letter as stated in the 1st front page of this forum thread? and how long it does to take to delivery to you guys? many thx again  notworthy.gif
*
I received my front seats replacement, from ordering to installing done in less than two weeks.

QUOTE(vostro78 @ Jun 4 2014, 03:17 PM)
oh, if this is the function u mean, is it like when we stuck in the q at most shopping complex parking lane ? if that is the case, i think mostly all auto will hv no issue but manual got ?
*
Yeah, usually the slope is not that steep. But one who has never driven manual car will never know the experience of balancing the clutch and accelerate pedals laugh.gif

hi all who recently went for service?

reaching 1k soon, quoted petronas semi oil around 108 and shell semi 109.

why diff from the list on first page 1?
*
That (1st page) is the old price carried over from previous threads laugh.gif

Anyway, why not use full synthetic? Preferably Syn3000 or the best Syn5000.

ohh wah price increased so much already..

full syn how much it costs?...cos i called the sc quoted me semi, will ask further when i send my car there... smile.gif
*
Other spare parts cost the same, so is the workmanship.

Syntium 800 +- RM 108

Fully Synthetic:
Syntium 1000 +- RM190
Syntium 3000 +- RM220
Syntium 5000 +- RM250

Used Syntium 800 before, didn't solve the engine knocking sound, changed to Syntium 5000 from second service onwards until now, problem solved, and definitely no lag or car jerking thumbup.gif

But again, depends on your requirement, affordability and willingness smile.gif

petronas sometimes has the promotion on the engine oil.
but i think this only applicable if you buy at Petronas petrol station
early this year, i got the spoon set as free gift.
also, when you buy at petrol station, check the manufactured date.
because Syntium 5000 is something premium, less people using.
i noticed a few petronas station, selling >3 years old engine oil.
i buy it at the petronas just before COSE (Kesas, direction to Klang), their Syntium 5000 is very new, <6 months from the manufactured date when i bought
*
Depends on SC, but I received all the promotion items that came with the engine oil.

how about the tint? since my SA said he pay shop and they do. Means I wont get the ori tint from proton?
*
For non CFE variants, there is no complimentary tinting. Only CFE enjoys the tinting from ECOtint.
