Hi LYN forumers and experienced people,

There is this terraced house I plan to redesign its main gate and fence wall where the existing water meter is obstructing partially on the proposed human access.

Would like to find out is it okay to shift it? Do we have to notify related authority before doing so?
Or is there any consequences, suggestions, advices I need to know before making this decision?

Thank you.

move it, as long as they can find it without searching, you are fine.

TNB meter don't touch, because if anyone got fried, then its your fault fully.

Thank you for your information.

Since you mentioned TNB meter, if I wanna move it, then it needs to be their authorised officer or contractor right? Because how they did it was just drilling all over the party wall outside main entrance and drag all wires over just like that.

For me, I'll just call them to isolate the main valve(need special type of key) then relocate the meter, remember, that meter shall not be tampered in any situation. This is to prevent any problem that will arise(even the chances are slim).

Pretty hard to move any meter water or electric without contacting the relevant authority first, since you will need them to shut off the incoming water or electric supply before you can move the meter.

Yup, that's right. Just spend some money, call the right person in, ask the right questions. Then later no need to headache.
