between the Z5 and Q5; which screen can produce better colour accuracy? I'm not so much into gaming, more for on site photo editing (lightroom & photoshop).

Anyone knows if the missing 2 transistors on the CPU would affect anything?

Today was the first time I took apart the CPU to clean the thermal and repaste it. While trying to remove some of the old, thick and hardened ones... I used a bit too much force. Damn regretting it right now.

So far the laptop is running fine but I'm quite worried of the long-term issues.

My S5 just hit 95c playing Heroes of the Storm

Is there a fan controller for S5 that I have not set faster for gaming?

I opened up the laptop, tried to clean the old thermal paste. The paste was put there since 2013 and never cleaned or replaced.

So the portion of the missing transistors/resistors, had and still have a huge chunk of hardened thermal paste. I tried to remove it after a few drops the Articlean 1 but it didn't come out.

Being a bit more forceful, I took my index finger with a tissue and wiped hard there. When i lifted my finger, I saw the transistors/resistors missing. 

So now, what should I expect in terms of performance or issue? I've plugged in and nothing happened so far. Working like normal.

Do you sell the CPU itself or something?

When will you be launching the skylake version of the rest of your lineup?

RX-17 EVO also included in this upgrade? Cause I just ordered 1 unit of RX-17 EVO GTX970M SLI this morning.

Prince_J, can I ask for assistance? None of my USB3.0 and E-SATA ports have enough 'power' to run a HDD. For some odd reason, My RS-15's USB port cannot generate enough power it seems. Can I ask for assistance?

As I recall the RS-15 has 1 powered USB 3.0 port, but it doesn't seem to be enough to power up a portable HDD for some reason.
Any ideas that I can do? (Without sending it back of course LOL)

(I've tried plugging it individually to all ports, it doesn't work). Plugging to another laptop (non Illegear) works for some odd reason.
*edit: after some googling I'm very afraid if my laptops' USB power control circuit has fried. RIght now on another laptop I can power a USB external HDD and access contents with only 1 USB port, but on the RS-15 even using two, it disconnects and reconnects at random.

*add on 2:
tried another HDD. No dice. Power at max settings. Now i'm wondering what's going on.

*add 3: i use full power (battery options) while plugged in. No changes. Even charging a handphone on the "powered" usb is taking very long (i'm testing this since noon)

The USB-HDD i'm using is Lenovo 300s. It never connected to the RS-15. But on other laptops it worked fine.
I was thinking of "refreshing" the windows 8, but during transferring from C:/ (SSD) to E:/ (normal HDD) the laptop shut down. I repeated the same thing and it shut down again.
Now i'm panicking.

Temperature for SSD fluctuate round 72c to 89c. Dunno why so high.

It'll be months before I can send it back, but I'll try. Most likely during November or December.

I will try to format (there are some things as well), but right now i'm worried because for no reason the SSD is running at 72c-89c all the time.
As for errors, none. It just shuts down by itself just like that.

the heat would probably be from SSD itself, i don't think changing OS would help much

Actually for my SSD its only for OS, except for GTA 5 and WoW which is in the same C (SSD). No issues despite heavy gaming (and lengthy gaming sessions too).
So I've formatted the SSD, clean install. I'll try to install drivers (but I've no idea where to look for it), and I'm not willing to use windows 10 unless the drivers are there from Clevo (if any exists).

By the way, Prince J, do you have RX-17EVO user manual in pdf format? Paper manual is hard to carry around for reading.

Need some help here, feeling a bad day today. My 3 weeks old D5 seems having problem today. Im turning on my laptop but the LED light from power button & processor keep repeating blinking with out showing anything from monitor. At the same time the fan from laptop seems like repeating turning off - on.

I'm checking the power adapter of my laptop seems working fine, testing my laptop with using power adapter on it and without power adapter (using battery), both of the similar situation of problem I stat above. Checking my power outlet, seems my PC running with 550W seem work fine.

I'm suspecting the problem comes from the laptop itself. Need assist what should I do since I'm from Sarawak. T.T

Actually even my monitor didn't show up anything when Im pressing the power button, the keyboard and bottom led, power button led and processor led keep blinking (processor led blinking green and then yellow)  and both of the fan seem on and off (can heard the sound from both of it).

I've try ur method but seems didn't work. Already remove the stock ram and replace with my other DDR3L ram Corsair from my ASUS laptop also didn't work out.

P/s: I'malso notice the heat produce from the left corner of the screen (not from the fan from gpu or cpu). its kinda weird for me.
