*
Here take mine. 5k

QUOTE(mhn21 @ May 27 2018, 07:46 PM)
hi guys any advice on coil springs for the savvy? changed my absorbers but want to change the springs too.

the spare part shops only stock saga blm spring, does anyone know if they are identical?
*
BLM gooding. Cheap and cheerful. Butt slightly taller, will look sexy also

QUOTE(e-lite @ Jun 2 2018, 04:29 PM)
Front springs are the same. Rear springs BLM a bit stiffer and taller, but I prefer it that way and used to have it on my Savvy. Just remember to get the BLM springs and not the FLX springs. FLX is too stiff

Springs are lifetime item. Should not need to replace one unless you too much money smile.gif

Hi David,
Read most of your posting in the past threads. I though u have sold your savvy?
*
Yeah. Sold the little red and changed to Gen2, then EG8. And during my EG8 was sick, I was suffering to find transport, and so happen the yard called me ask me tow my car away, only I realized I got a part car Shawie in storage. So yea, after salvaged the part car, and now I decided I like Shawie more than Gentut and EG8.

I'm sorry for your loss. For the Shawie per say, I'm sorry I can't remember which year is yours. If it has no problem, what for selling? Some points that need to consider:

1. If pre 2008, check for spindle if it has been replaced with latest revision. If not, and if you have a budget of 700, get it changed before catastrophic happens.
2. If AMT, just be aware of your pump. Change oil on 20k km basis, and make sure ELF oil only. If got problem ady, might as well sell it.
3. If newer, basically no problem means no problem. The only regular maintenance are speed sensor, temperature sensor and change your regular oil and coolant on scheduled basis.

Lastly, if you can find someone who buy your Shawie above 3k, faster sell. If not, might as well keep it. Or if you wanna sell besi buruk, sell to me 500

QUOTE(CcL @ Jun 12 2018, 07:08 PM)
hey guys

so what are the common issues with a 2005+ manual savvy?

parts etc easy and cheap to get?

thanks!
*
Part ain't cheap, but many thing share platform with Plotong Gaga BLM. So if you buy spare part time, tell the sifu u want BLM instead of Shawie, you can get cheaper.

Speed sensor DIY? How? U mean repair the sensor? Or you mean buy and replace DIY?

Fuel pump is not cheap as far as I know.

The AMT pump is basically just a electric drill.
Once the carbon runs out just change the carbon brush, just like a drill.
*
This is nicest. Appreciate a video guide if you have time for that. Will be huge benefit for fellow AMT owner.

In regards to the spindle, any way we can check if it was replaced with newer version?

Prak & pray, not consider retrofit. The recent price I got from last week

Spindle 65 x2
Bearing 48 x2
Brakehub 90 x2
Hub cap 8x2
Upah 150 + change engine oil + filter

Total after diskaun 550

QUOTE(fireballs @ Jun 14 2018, 12:18 PM)

See 1st sell or not. If not me no choice kasi tukar manual then me dribe. Easy for me go outstation if got any tournament attend.  Sibling no problem as my sis now have her mazda3 as backup car ady (savvy actually is family backup car)

Now money is matters. Start menabung sekarang

David, the price quoted is saga items?
*
Yesh. Plotong GaGa BLM. Full set. The only worry is, you need to find the bearing lock nut for both side and also the bearing holder pin. These items I weren't able to buy and has to cari from my magician. the last time I change full set close to 1000 no doubt, that's many years ago. I also didn't aware price has came down.

1 more thing, make sure yours is not ABS. I didn't know ABS version can't change to BLM, so now my Shawie think my belakang henbrek x lepas doh.gif will have to find way to disable my ABS now.

Oh ok. The unit I'm buying don't think comes with ABS, YR2005 standard unit.

The new spindle for savvy does not have the same old issue right?
*
The spindle got no problem even original. The problem is, if the bearing not properly installed, man you got a big problem. The inner bearing is smaller than the other bearing which sits on the brake hub. Meaning if 1 side of the bearing wear off, the tayar will kang kang and start grinding the spindle. And hence the spindle become weaken and break.

Actually, no need to worry on the spindle. Just change the bearing every 50kkm or so.
*
The last time it happened to me and @nox , we all got the same symptoms of those damn bearings keep on breaking within very short time. It will not last even 5k let alone 50. Spindle already bengkok, whatever good bearing u put in, the bearing tapper will wear off and the roller will get grinded off very quickly. Technically yes no need to change UNTIL flywheel.

QUOTE(m|key @ Jun 14 2018, 10:40 PM)
So, the bearing is the culprit?
*
Pre 2008 model con9lan7firm by Plotong is weak spindle, bearing washer too thin and wrong grease used. What can I say, that's their first time came out with brand spanking new own designed chassis!
