Hi, every Savvy lover.
My proton savvy clock 130k mileage last week,
After I change the timing belt and water pump, sound came out.
I using Renault timing belt set and Hamburg water pump, when It idling there's sound like "wiwiwiwi..." Came out.

Anyone had the same problems with me before?

It might be from your accessory belts. Got sound like mouse under the cat? Try changing or tightening your belts for power steering, air con & alternator
*
Seems like from the hamburg water pump which I change.
It's like a grinding sound, when i pedal more gasoline then more grinding sound came out.

If a belt problems will sound like "dak dak dak..." Or "ki ki ki ...."right?
But it wasn't any these two sound.

Let's say if really sound came from water pump, what does it means?
Can I simply ignore it? Thanksya

Better bring back to the shop u changed to redo the whole thing. If it is coming from water pump, belt tensioner or timing belt that u changed, any rubbing or grinding for another 100,000km is going to break something. And usually if one of those fails, half of your engine will spoil, which is a lot of money.  icon_question.gif  blush.gif

Finally got it fixed at Plotong service centre.
It's timing belt problem, it kept rubbing on top timing cover.
Although I using Renault genuine parts for Savvy, but according to plotong, they have several cases Savvy Noises due to using aftermarket timing belt. (including me using Renault belt.)
Arrgh... Darn...
Here goes another Rm500 include plotong timing belt + labour. shakehead.gif

As for the water pump, yes ,it will sound sometimes.
What I do is changed it back to the old one, previously which take out from my car one, still cantik-cantik takde bocor.
I must be buntut gatal to change this. rclxub.gif

Arrgh.. Fxxk it. shakehead.gif
Why other owner could use aftermarket parts and no kacau at all.
But for me , must stick to plotong parts? cry.gif

Hi guys.
My little blue monster just burst engine after serve me well for 3 years.
It's a Sudden Death during heavy traffic jam, just popped out wiring warning and engine oil warning indicators then heavily smoke and the engine was dead, cannot start anymore.

after check by Proton Sc, they said it cannot be rebuilt again. Need to do engine transplant.

Any suggestions for that?
Should I go for convert Myvi Auto into the car , or just buy a engine kosong savvy throw into it?

If do engine convertion , aircond parts, driveshaft , brake servo, power stering...need to change or remain savvy parts ?

Wow only 3 years? What's the mileage
What did you modify

It's easier and cheaper to transfer another savvy engine

Hi, bro Fireballs.
Actually my ride was almost 12 years old, first batch 2005 Yr Oct manual Savvy.
I bought it from a college student 3 years ago, June 2014, 95k mileage.
When I reach 125k km mileage, the meter of car malfunction, then cause my ride cannot be start.
So order the last piece of meter from Proton Headquarters, then the meter start from 0 mileage.

In these 3 years, I been travelled for another 56k km mileage and i always changing wear and tear parts mostly using Ori parts, not mod to the car.
But 2 days ago, when I stuck in heavily jamm, it sudden dead.

Proton Sc announced it death to me, ask me to prepare engine transplant.
Is any workshop recommended in JB area ?

how much you spent on the conversion?
which expert u went to?
*
Rm 6.5K for the Toyotard Bakso Auto Engine and Gearbox include labor.
Rm 600 For Custom make Driveshaft. Now JPJ cannot accept any kind of "sambung driveshaft", so must die die custom one set.

Rm 550 for JPJ endorse Runner Fee.

My Savvy previously was M-Line variant, so it does not have any ABS system.
Now I plunk in Bakso/Maiwi Engine, the RPM reading still can get from gearbox speed sensor, but the speedometer and odometer had to get reading from ABS sensor and ABS pump.
So, for now being engine running, auto gearbox no problems, just the Mileage and kmh issues.

I done the conversation at Colorpro Auto (Johor Bahru area).

is it feel faster

if i want to plonk in 1.5  1nzfe instead of  1.3 2nzfe can?

so right now how u wanna track your service interval
*
It feels powerful and faster abit if compare with the original D4f engine. rclxms.gif
Feels like driving an Iriz .

1.5 1nzfe is it engine from Alza? From what I know, Savvy could only convert engine from 1149cc to the most biggest displacement 1300cc.
If you wanna do that, can, could be done it.
But, for the endorsement..... I doubt it couldn't get pass.

For now being, I using phone GPS to know what speed I driving at.
The service interval had to agak agak count by month.

so what happen to your old engine , is it amt or manual

do u pay cash for the rm6500+ , why dont pay deposit or no deposit (promotion)to buy new saga or iriz
*
My old D4f engine was manual variant, it burst in a heavy traffic jamm.
Water and engine oil all went into combustion chamber, lining, conrod, piston ring all severe damaged.
If I want to rebuilt it, yes, it can be done.
But have to fork out at least Rm4000 to do it, some more this price are not include the beltings.

I do consider about to buy another car to replace the Savvy. But others car cannot gave me the exactly same feelings when driving.
Some more, I just bought an Ertiga on January.

If you can bring back the life of this little monster in just a few thousand bucks, why don't do it? hmm.gif

Buy a new saga 2017 cost you 36k, New Iriz around 42k; convert engine toyotard bakso just 8000++ ( I change all 4 new tayar and a New set of brake pads).
Which one is the smartest choice ? whistling.gif

Guys, any idea what symbol is this? My AMT cannot use auto now. Only manual.

Thanks.
*
better sent workshop and use obd diagnos tool to check.
if they quote you more than 3k to fix it, you should consider to do engine conversion.
i just done my engine convert into passo auto early june, cost around 7k, then hassle free.
as you known, amt is an never ending nightmare doh.gif

Thanks for the suggestion. But for that price you can get a 2nd hand myvi. Worth it?
*
In Johor, even a First batch Myvi they sold for 13k, really blood sucker second hand car seller.
But I pay half price of it, can get Savvy which is good in handling and chassis strength, plus reliable engine from Mybi.
Is it a smarter choice?

Hello,

Just asking for opinion. Let say wanna get rid of AMT gearbox. If u're me, what do u do?

1. Change/convert to manual
2. Convert/swap to K3VET/2NZFE
3. Go sell, buy kancil L2/L5

Thanks.
*
Let's say

1. Convert to manual, you need someone manual owner who willing to sell his manual gearbox, wiring set, meter cluster, gear console, manual Ecu and manual driveshaft as an complete convert kit to you. Which cost you around 2.5k to 3k not including 1.5k to 2k of labour cost.

2. K3vet was around 9k to 10k not including JPJ endorsement 450 ringgit and the cost of modified driveshaft, you need to combine outer cv joints of Savvy which located near tyres with driveshaft k3vet from gearbox output side.
Some more our Savvy cannot fit in large Radiator, the most largest size can fit in was L9 Kenari Radiator. If you done that conversion , you may worry about water temperature issues.

3. Driving a Kancil not much different with suicide.

If you really wanna a hassle free Savvy, I might sell my blue monster to you. Rm8.5k passo auto Savvy with jpj endorsement done. Got dvd player reverse camera inside.
