My brakes always got screeching sound when I just start my car and drive. After driving for a while, then the sound disappears. I send to mechanic to fix, he skim my brake disc and change my brake pads, RM200+ in total. Now the sound starts coming back again. Any idea why?

How much is a new speed sensor nowadays?

I paid RM200 at Renautech about 3 years ago.

It is now spoiled again.

On and off, the yellow AUTO light come on the dashboard and the speedometer drops to 0 while driving and jerks a bit.

Sometimes the AMT changes from D to N at the traffic light.

same problem, have a feeling that it might be connection issue.

If it's spoilt, how come it can occasionally comes back to live?

i just use penknife, then hold with plier, use hammer to lightly tap it
then screwdriver to pry it open.
ya.. very easy

the bolt thread should be broken this way after it's opened, did you glue back to close it tight?

Today it is my time to pry open my speed sensor @fireballs 😁😁😁
[attachmentid=8458311]

In my case, no loosened part or rusty solder. It just that to many geabox oil inside the sensor made the tip stiff and not able to rotate freely. So i just cleanup all the oil and now it can rotate easily and has more freeplay.

Save money. Thank you @fireballs for the idea to pry it open. Xie Xie 😆

did you open by twisting with hand/spana? apparently it can be twist by 2 spana.

so far 9 years of ownership, nothing breaks.
only speed sensor die, but can be resurrected.

when comparing car reliability, the owner should always get most of the credits.
