Hi, I'm from Penang and I would want to buy a new dry cabinet for the storage of my camera and my lens. I'm looking for a digital one with automatic closed loop control so that I would not need to tune in the proper settings as for the analog type. From what I see, it is either Aipo or Digi-cabi. However, the Aipo brand seems to be more available in Penang.

I've also seen several bad reviews on the Aipo dry cabinet especially from the period around 2010, supposedly due to a faulty batch. Can anybody please give me some feedback on it's durability and reliability now?

I'm looking more towards the AP-48EX model. The reviews I have read online has kind of given me a bad impression of the brand.

Thanks for any clarification smile.gif

I'm using AP-48EX right now and so far it's working well. The humidity reading will be 1% +- based on your setting so it's consider as quite accurate.

Hi,how long have you been using it so far? Do you use a second hygrometer to check for the deviation? Cause +-1% sounds really good to me. Heheheh

Selection is +\- 1% but real accuracy is definitely lower than that. 5% accuracy is pretty good already.

the faulty batch referred to the power adapter...later on they changed adapter and its still running fine as of now.

Yeah, if it's around that range then I think it's really acceptable. I've been reading around for reviews and some I see some complaining that the deviation between the actual humidity and the humidity set is almost reaching 10% when they tested with an independent hygrometer. Hahah

10% is very normal.
I tested several different humidity meters before. 5% would be one of the better ones.
Just leave it at 45%.
That way 35 or 55% is still considered ok.

Nope. Using digicabi digital close loop.
Few years ago I did try out several RH meters for research purposes though.

Didn't use second hygrometer to check it. But I think it's quite accurate. Just used it for one month plus only.

Owh, okay, so that 10% deviation happens for your digicabi too?

Alright, thanks very much smile.gif I'm just a little worried about buying one only to find a ton of faults on it. Hahah Otherwise I really like the Aipo 48 capacity with the two trays for the price.

7-10% deviation was with many digital hygrometers in the market. Tested about 5-6 including a digital hygrometer of an open loop Digi-cabi.
The deviation is also higher at certain RH level.

I got mine already. Heheh AIPO 48 and looks good! All is working fine and well. Just one question, is it normal for the humidity to drop quite slowly? I'm new to these dry cabinets stuff so I dont really know much, but I was expecting the humidity for my digital one to drop within minutes. But from what I saw on my first day of use, it took maybe an hour or more for it to drop from 70% to around 65%. Then I left it and went to sleep and only the next morning I saw it reach 45%.

All is working well, but in my mind I thought the dry cabinet was gonna reach my preset value in minutes. Hahah Really noob here.
