RM2k plus minus.

RM4k if as resident engineer.

RM6k if promoted to project manager.

So working in a consultancy firm would net between RM2-4k.

But do note that a civil engineer has to be on site under the sun very often. Not like in drama, sitting in aircond office, attend meeting & sign docs only.

Hehe, dont think it will burst in anytime soon. Energy demand from China and India keep surging every year.

Agree that oil and gas always get a very good starting pay. My coursemate, graduated together with him in 2004, I heard he earned USD 4000 per month the moment he joined Schlumberger. Now I heard his salary is ard USD 8000 per month. He alr owned a big house and a car at his Melaka hometown. But all this comes at a price - he's always away from Malaysia, ended in the middle of oil rig abroad, performing 12 hours shift daily.

My, my but of course if the TS hadn't ask such a stupid question, i wouldn't have to give a stupid answer don't you think? Then again, i can't see how is my comment 'stupid' in anyway cause by drug seller i meant pharmacy. If someone had better english, my post wouldn't have to be deleted...
Down to the topic, if there were really such thing as MOST high paid job for fresh grad, i think everyone would've already been studying that course thus making it the LESS paid job no?
IMO, Its not all about the money. I always feel, if you have the passion for something, automatically you'll succeed. So chase for something YOU like to do. If you like it, then you've succeeded. But of course, the other way to looking at it is, If you like money, no matter what you do, you've succeeded ^^
There is no such thing as fast money, but there is such thing as alot of money. All of it though, comes with an equal price you have to pay. So ask yourself, how do you want to pay this price? Would you like to pay it the 'fun' way? That is enjoying what you do. Or would you like to pay it the join-everybody-be-a-doctor-earn-millions-once-you-graduate way? The choice is entirely up to you

I hope this comment isn't considered 'stupid' for those that aren't so good in english.

I dont think so for teachers in our country. It may applies if you works in another country. E.g. Singapore
