Actually, the weight of the car plays an important part. Having more gears also equally important. In my case, 6-speed AMT. On highway, I'm mostly on 6th gear unless overtaking at 4th (the system allow dropping of 2 gears via paddle shift). Same goes for the Accord. In town, it is mostly on 4th. On highways, it will switch to 5th and remain there until u decide the accelerate. Try driving in manual mode only (for cars with AMT, DSG, CVT or A/T with paddle shift) and don't let the computer decide. Guarantee will improve FC by at least 20%.

Try to get rid of all the rubbish/junk inside.

Honda City is kinda underpowered because it is slightly heavier than Jazz. When engine is underpowered, people tend to step on the accelerator more and this results in higher FC.

Even my old Gen2 is also the same. Since engine only has power after 3500 RPM, I tend to change gear to 2 and later 3 before keeping it in D. FC is terrible.

For 2.0L cars, the engine has enough torque and if the car is not too heavy, u don't need to step on the accelerator more. My mom's 2009 Accord 2.0 archive 800km @ RM 120. The car is very rev-happy and acceleration is very smooth. Most of the time, I kept the throttle at 40% (measured with Auterra DashDynoSPD).

bro how much did u purchase the smart forfour? kinda interested in getting that
*
I bought it brand new at RM 84,198 back in 2008. Now used ones going for RM 55k to 60k depending on year and condition. Many in great condition because mostly used as 2nd or 3rd car.

Don't worry about parts as it is shared with Mitsubishi and Proton.

1. Oil filter is from a Gen2 1.6
2. Oil sump nut is from a Wira 1.6
3. Front and rear brake pads from a Waja 1.6
4. Air filter is from a 2004 Mitsubishi Colt or K&N at RM 400
5. Absorbers also from a 2004 Mitsubishi Colt or u can opt for Titan (locally produced performance coil overs around RM 3k per set, original Sachs is around RM 4k).
6. Clutch and pressure plate available in Jln Ipoh / Jln Segambut for a mere RM 1k (OEM) to 2k (original). If purchased from Mercedes, it will be RM 3k.
7. Windscreen and other glass available in Tmn Megah, approx RM 2k for front and RM 1k for rear. Side glass windows around RM 500 each.
8. Disc rotors available from Tyre Zone in Tmn Megah.

Difficult parts are plastic body panels which will need to order from Singapore or Germany however if minor, any mudguard fella can fix it.

1) Model : '97 Wira(a) 1.5GL
2) Petrol Used: Shell Ron95
3) Engine oil used: Castrol GTX mineral 20W-50 [Gonna try Mobile 1 Fully Synthetic, no idea it'll work well or not. Is it worth a try? because i already have it.]
4) Fuel Consumption : 21cents per km, 8.88km/l
5) Driving Condition : 70% City, 30% Highways.
6) Average Speed : 100km/h
7) Latest Mileage : 217,xxx Km.
I realised my wira thirst for fuel excessively.

What i have every full tank is approx Rm65(ron95)

Mileage for each full tank is only 300-320km. That's like Rm0.21/km. Whereas I see other wiras only use like Rm0.12~0.14?

Guys I need help here already lol.

*Btw, I never modded any part of my engine yet. Only diy'ed two petrol filter instead running on one. Doing regular maintenance every 4,000km.
*
Don't waste money on full synth on old engine unless you rebuild it from scratch. My guess the engine has worn out after many years of service. Opt for a engine overhaul or replacement.

Bro so you think i should keep using the mineral oil or switch to semi synthetic like 10/40 or so?
*
If u have no plans to overhaul the engine, just leave it as it is.

After major overhaul, u can opt for semi-synth.

If full engine rebuild with all new performance parts, definitely full synth.

2008 Camry
481.6km
54.51l
RM117.75

is it considered bad?
cant find any camry post here wondering what is the reasonable milage
can anyone enlighten me?
*
Which Camry? 2.0 or 2.4?

If 2.0, it is acceptable because of 4-speed auto gearbox.

The 2008 Honda Accord 2.0 w/ 5-speed auto can do 800km @ RM 120 easily.

Why my car fuel consumption so high...

car: Myvi SE Manual
FC: ~12L/100km (first time calculated, using petronas ron95)

this is ridiculously high dont you all thing?
*
Check the O2 sensor. Could be faulty. My sis Myvi 1.3EZi also have high FC. After a few weeks, Check Engine warning came on. Took to workshop for diagnostic and found O2 sensor faulty. Replacement cost RM 300.

Those experiencing high FC should check/clean the following:

1. Throttle body (especially those with drive-by-wire system.
2. MAF or MAP sensor.
3. O2 sensor.

My FC improved by 15% after cleaning item 1 and 2.
