lighting still sucks, game is linear as hell, huge boss fight is bugged to hell and stress inducing especially the hitboxes, gloomy feeling of the game is gone.. no more dark areas to explore and mostly bright places, the difficulty curve is not properly balanced, mob despawn, limited human effigy.. gonna wait for 75% + base price drop

forgot to mention, after reaching SL150, you are no longer protected from invasion of a SL835 unlike the first DS. In hollow form you are still vulnerable from invasion so there's no getting away unless u disconnect your net. Stat gain per point is greatly reduced after SL150, infinite amount of respec so no more unique builds, joining certain factions bug out the summon feature

So I went to ask Steam support. If any of you are going around a lot, best to just buy from somewhere else NOT steam.

It is a bit contradicting as Paradox said that the game is only activatable in SEA but playable elsewhere.

Problem is all those keys sold outside are also region restricted. Go to GMG and it'll say Dark Souls NA, haven't seen any RoW keys yet. Don't understand what's the purpose of publishers pulling this kinda stunt, doesn't earn them more money is all I know. They should just allow people to select region to connect to in-game instead of locking regions based on keys.

Apparently Steam is restricting a lot of upcoming games to respective regions as well, one of the most recent one is from Bethesda, Wolfenstein. No MP but still region lock.

South Park and Watch Dogs as well.
I asked all the publishers already. I contacted Namco Community Manager and support tickets to both Ubisoft and Bethesda. ALL IGNORE YAAAYYYY
Cancelled my pre-order for DS2 and not buying Watch Dogs or Wolfenstein =/ Ah well, maybe I can go eat mamak or something.

But yeah, seriously, no idea what the f*** is going on with steam.

I guess it means we gotta start using a black flag with a skull on it if we want to play outside SEA.

It is probably to do with something something scam city SEA, something something stolen credit card.

The idea is really simple, to thwart illegal account trading because you know no one is gonna complain it when both sides get what they want until something goes wrong like cross region account trade which syndicates like to do, because USD > SEA currencies. Oh other regions like Russia, Romania, Nigeria might get flagged too.

That's totally different from the meaning of the notice they posted. Such a turnoff. If they are going to region restrict it, then the only way they are getting my money is when they price drop and 75% off.

I'm just boycotting it. HOWEVER, someone pre-ordered it and then refunded, and there was a statement that the DS2 he pre-ordered (was in Russia) was ROW. I have not seen anyone from SEA try though.

when you activate the key, does it mention anything about ROW?

It gives the notice ready for pre-loading and unable to play yet as it is not out yet.
There is also the info saying Steam Sub 36517

I do really hope region lock isn't about restricting connection between the country, I like testing out skills on players around the world on DS1.

If thats the case what's the fun invading each other locally or SEA? Is like same dude keep invading you or ganked by same group while trying to invade others. It just doesn't feel right.

by right, DS2 only have 2 types of keys. JP and ROW. Only pray Steam won't be an arse and revoke your game from the library. DS2 in GMG does say NA though

I will say wait first. The pre-order incentive in DS2 wasn't that great anyways. There are mixed comments about DS2 now that may disappoint those that loved DS1. Just a heads up, the game isn't as dark and gloomy as DS1 anymore and PVP is worse than DS1 albeit easier to connect. Their new class is imba as heck so prepare for a wave of curse users while the other classes got nerfed to oblivion.

Wah today midnight can play Dark Souls 2 already?
