For daily travel long distance (70km/trip) use, shall i go for fz 58mm or 62mm (any recommend)?
*
62mm ceramic is FTW... nowadays the block more stable that few years ago.. So do not worried on the reliability of the block. Just change your engine oil every 2000km and you are good to go.

But seriously, are there any good kapcai tyres good in rainy days?
I doubt even the sisik ones, like Maxxis 3D, Maxxis Volans, Shinko or those copycat are any better. Good grip in wet depends on silica compound, not those fancy patterns.
*
U want good for value and wet day performance? Go for Dunlop TT9... they got 80/90, 70/90 and 90/80 even somesaid got 100/70...
Performance is superb and price is cheap. Is something like Battlax semi slick tyre but good in wet day performance

What my foreman tell me when he go hong leong yamaha traning for y15zr and the technician said dont compare old model fz/lc engine with new fz and y15zr engine...totally redesign but they do share some of the parts... while new fz and y15zr differences is on their 5th gear and cam profile. Others are same.

Any 15W-50 or 15W-60 in the market?
In India, it seems Motul supplies to Yamaha EO. So, what they kinda get is Motul Factory line 15W-50.
*
Ya..Try to find ELF oil...quite rare in the market but very nice.
Now i using this http://www.total.com.my/en/motorcycles/eng...tech-10w50.html
and for 10-60 is this http://www.finol.ie/lubricants-oils/motorc...pione-4t-10w60/
But my foreman said 10-60 actually is for KTM 390 and 690 using cause single cylinder and high power output. For our kapcai also can but will feel heavy abit but it surely will protect your engine like gold and no doubt about that.

Retail price now scary:
Hi Perf 10W-50 FS - RM55
Hi Perf 10W-40 SS - RM38

Check page 1, I've compiled a list of EO of high viscosity xW-50 and xW-60.
List of EO suitable for Y15ZR and FZ150i v2
*
rclxms.gif Niceeee...But true stories.. FZ150 2014 and Y15ZR engine really take at least 10-50w only can lasting long...else the engine oil easy to vapour and cause the piston ring malfunction.
A lot of people award that only start to care they engine oil but is it way too late and wont help. In the end only blame yamaha quality problem...

Noted. But according to the product page. No 10w-50 from HLY.

http://oms.yamaha-motor.com.my/aftersales/yamalube.aspx

Maybe I have to opt Syntium Moto 4SP. Been a while since last riding bike during uni days. Noob again. laugh.gif
*
Yes, yamaha dont have 10-50.. but please do always use 10-50...dont try to use so popular brand like motul and etc due to counterfeit are too much in this market.

Sorry, my mistake. I refer to user manual again last night. Recommended is 20W-40 or 20W-50. Not 10W.
Noted bro.
Haha.. The oil must be OEM by somebody. Maybe Syntium Moto OEM laugh.gif
*
Bro...the front number means that whats the flow level of the fuel in cold environment...less is good...yamaha recommend 20 because malaysia impossible getting 10 Celsius.. I recommend you go for 10-50 which got better flow or 15-50 also no problem...jst make sure the rear number is 50 and above is fine

I see. Thanks for the explanation. Considering between 4SP or 4SX. I read on the first page stating new bikes not recommended to use fully synthetic. Semi ok or avoid also?
*
My very first run in already use fully syntechtic.........

1. what if on every eo change, we use different 'grade' e.g
15w-40 | T.I.E Lubricants | RM37
10w-40 | Motul 5100 | RM46
10w-40(?) | Yamalube | RM39
10w-40 | Castrol Poer 1 | RM29
20w-40 | Castrol Activ | RM22
20w-50 | Maxoil | RM25

2. is it safe if we use non original oil filter?
like those advertise in fb only RM4 to 5 per unit compared to >RM13 original
*
Cheapest original filter i heard is RM8. 4-5 sure fake 1 or grade AAA
Motul 5100 if not mistaken is 15-50?? Where you live? I can recommend my foreman to you as he got selling good engine oil and he took his stock from dealer of ELF lube.
