Seems like no luck and it's still dead .. sad.gif

Hmm too bad. Maybe there is a loose connection between battery, this issue was present on some phones that made it randomly reboot. If youre adventurous enough you can try disassembling it and adding a small piece of paper or card below (between battery and phone housing), then check connection of the battery cable. For reference Lumia 920 disassembly.

Lumia 920 unresponsive touch screen issue.

This morning I found out that the touchscreen is not working anymore. Usually when this happened, I will press on the camera button and the touchscreen is back to normal. But today its not normal anymore. I believe the phone is ok because when I touch the buttons everything works but the touchscreen is the only issue.

If I replace the digitizer, will it help or I need to change the board or something else? If it is only digitizer's fault, I already search ebay for replacement.

Kindly advice please sad.gif

Hi there, sorry to hear you have such an issue.
Have you tried a soft reset? (power + volume down together) for 15 seconds or until it vibrates.
If it works after that then maybe its software related.
You may try using the Windows Phone recovery tool to clean flash it.
Note : IT WILL DELETE ALL DATA, Please do a backup of your important files.
Also you must use the original cable (not some cheap or pasar malam geh, or it your phone wont be detected), if it fails to detect try a different usb slot, if it still fails, try a different computer.

All the best and keep us posted.

Update, the phone is working again. I juz left it not charging and depleted the battery. Then I juz try charging it with hopes that its working again and it works. But I'm afraid to use it as regular phone in case the touchscreen is unresponsive again.
Any idea to avoid the issue in the future??
*
probably hardware issue so not much that you can do.

QUOTE(ameri @ Aug 25 2015, 12:24 PM)
I dropped my phone from waist height. Now the capacitive navigation button wont vibrate anymore when pressed. Tried to toggle the vibrating option on and off too but to no avail.
Faulty already? Or got some loose connection?
*
Chill bro. Go to settings > touch > off Navigation bar (it will ask to reboot, select ok)
After reboot go back to settings again and on then it will ask to reboot again.
After that it should be fine. Give it maybe 5- 10 minutes if it doesn't kick in right away.

By the way, I have a question.

Does your 920 heat up considerably while on data? I dont even bother gaming.

I stay on 3G but damn almost every time i use data it goes berserk.

P.s If yours doesnt let me know what carrier and plan you're using.

I see. what provider are you using? do you think it has something to do with network strength?

QUOTE(sam.hajime @ Sep 1 2015, 10:50 AM)
hi..juz wondering.if possible.
i accidentaly updated to wp10 developer..any way i can revert back to old version"?
*
old version as in back to WP8.1 or to previous version?
for 8.1 just use the recovery tool . (deletes all data)

for previous version i think you have to start again and go in stage by stage.
go back to 8.1 - then 10 and stop updating before the latest W10 update.

If not just wait for the next release of updates.

Yes signal/network strength has something to do with it, Lumia 920 has support for LTE why arent you on LTE?

Anyway im from Subang/USJ area Maxis 3G/LTE is fully covered, if you are on U Mobile/Celcom its better to stay on 3G for some areas.
*
Yes, it does have support for 4G but it heats up faster, also due to the reason that I go around quite frequently.

At home, indoors, my networks fluctuates on Maxis's network, while Digi does just fine. I have come to notice that when one performs badly in an area, the other compensates for it. Also both networks perform under the same bands, 1800MHz and 2600MHz.

3G therefore seems to be the optimal selection when 4G is not available, causing it to jump and switch to 3G.

Both networks have gave me a tonne of dropped calls and resulted in complaints with MCMC but network still shitty for Maxis, only time Digi crapped out on me was during the Bersih 4 event and being in its vicinity with scramblers working.

My parents on the other hand use Celcom, same issue with bad network indoors. May however switch my Maxis number to it as it seems there is a good postpaid plan on a bargain.

Update Oct 3rd.

The phone is way cooler now + LTE ><
Im guessing that the free 64kbps plan which is so restricted may be the culprit so take heed guys.

juz wondeering.when will 930 or 925 or 920 get the wp10 stable update?
*
QUOTE(fantasy1989 @ Sep 25 2015, 11:07 PM)
early of october
*
Hmm not very sure that older devices will get the update that soon. Id say at least a month after oct 6th. The Cyan and Denim update is prove, heck, Uganda (Africa) still doesnt have Denim. Also would like to see how it performs first. For 930 should be okay, 925 & 920 hmm doubt living images will come. Really hope its better than 8.1, transitioning to home screen can be laggy for me sometimes.....

Anyone still on W10M insider preview? Since they're are announcing next week.
*
Im sure some are still on it, when WM10 is launched for older phones, we have no idea yet.

Hi there, thanks for the reply but I don't really get you sorry.

1. Yupe I realise that it's common, have read a few examples. Yes it doesn't need to be change cause the screen can still be seen. But I'm just wondering if I personally choose to if anyone would know how much it would

2. Hmmm that sounds like something that I would screw up lol. Fingers cross that it will last a while longer.

3. Vga quality meaning? Mine is just dust though, I read it's a common problem for this model and if under warranty they would help clean and seal it for free. But my warranty expired already.
*
1. Cost around Rm 200-300 (that was last few months before GST and our currency fell)
2. you can refer to video (previously posted here too)
3. Vga quality basically means low quality, you see how blurry the images are? Like those old phone cameras?

my 920 screen sudah picah... sad.gif

tadi terjatuh kat parking lot.

sigh
*
Sorry man~

QUOTE(m0r31d8ng3l @ Oct 12 2015, 08:23 PM)
I took the plunge and installed win10mobile. So far it looks good but cant say very diff than 8.1. only bad thing I've noticed so far is how long it takes for the start screen to load when just powered on. Using as main phone now. see how it goes..

PS. I won't be able to revert back as my USB driver in the mobo is dead. Haha
*
All the best, did you get Denim 8.1 GDR 2 before you got 10?

how much if i want to sell my 928?
930@1520 in my mind...
*
928? Thats a Verizon exclusive with Xenon flash. You might want to keep it~ On the other hand no idea if our networks in Malaysia will work on it.

QUOTE(ab123 @ Nov 3 2015, 07:28 AM)
I'm currently using a Lumia 920 bought since 26 Dec 2012, and I've been a Windows 10 Mobile Insider since build 10166, and currently running build 10581. I have to say it's the smoothest build ever since all those other builds from Microsoft.

Also Insiders from US/ Europe recommends a reset after installing these build for stability. But I have to say I lost glance screen from this update and it's a terrible experience, I've no way to get it back.
*
I did a hard reset before going to wm10, camera has a bug where the top and left side has some glitch. Overheats on video outside, photo add in doesnt work. Glance, i dont use it but thats the only one i cant update >< There should be another build this week or next hope it fixes more stuff.

a. Attached Image

Taken during my trip to George Town, Penang.

Shots were taken individually and then stitched with ICE (Image Composite Editor) . Not Filtered or edited.

Download ICE : Image Composite Editor - Microsoft Research

b. Attached Image

Steel wool photography - Do a youtube search for tips.

Use Lumia Cam - Set ISO - 100, Shutter speed 0.5 secs and above, brightness (reduce if you see ugly flare), manual focus - have a lighter to try and focus on that.

Light the steel wool on fire and spin (use a wisk).

Be careful not to cause a fire. Wear safety googles to protect your eyes (do not look up if you dont).

c. Also i recently came up with something : Windows Phone - A fan's perspective

Do share your thoughts with me.

d. Anyone here on insider build? If so could you share your current experiences? Eg: Overheating etc etc.

The phone slightly hot after charge. I read somewhere they mentioned the phone must be postioned exactly on centre but mine is ok.

My screen got a few burned dot already. Waiting for 1030.

I'm using Cycloramic for panorama stitching.
*
Wouldnt know, never used one. Prefer using the wired charger for faster charging.

Burnt screen, hmm not surprised based on that amount of heat it gives off, sometimes for no good reason.

1030, probably interesting to see but will probably not be buying it, will be switching to something else once i have the $$$ or my 920 breaks down, LG G4 maybe. What about the 950 series or LG's G4 & V10?

I too have Cycloramic but man, i think that app really needs a good update for stability and speed or whatever (cant really remember, I last used it about 1/2 a year ago or something).
