QUOTE(SSJBen @ Nov 23 2014, 12:25 PM) How much is this model in Malaysia now? I'm in the US and I just saw this at MicroCenter a few hours ago, was at a ridiculously jacked up price of $399. QUOTE(llk @ Nov 23 2014, 12:30 PM) Bought at Sri Computer(i know haha) but their pricing is slightly lower than other shop @ RM1190If you wanna buy from Viewnet , it's RM1250 and they'll give you an AMD Never Settle game coupon But for Asus Strix most of the shops that I've been to it's usually out of stock and I don't see any Gigabyte cards(gtx 970/980) anywhere either Performance wise it's very good, idle temp is around 32-38 degrees and at full load (benchmark with unigine heaven) , it ran up to 76 degrees which is acceptable to me A of now, I don't notice any coil whine yet. hopefully it stays that way This post has been edited by alfiejr: Nov 23 2014, 05:24 PM |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Nov 24 2014, 10:22 AM) That price makes sense. $400 doesn't and that's not inclusive of the 8% sales tax yet. Don't have any plan on messing with the oc yet , stock clock speed seems fine at the moment. $400 is their black Friday price... which is why I was wtf'ing all the way out of the store. That price really ain't bad at all. I'd pick this "stock" 970 over other stock 970s from the other manufacturers. Pushed for max core clocks yet? Anyone here plays world of tanks? Seems having issue with low fps, i observed the gpu usage only hits around 51-53 percent max.. Is this a driver issue or just an unoptimised game bcoz my R9 290 played just fine before.

QUOTE(Unseen83 @ Nov 29 2014, 10:39 PM) hm maybe u disable sec gpu ? have you run DDU ? wah RM 1.4K .. why don't u got 2x R9 290(Sapphire R9 290 TriX RM1.2-1.3K) i saw this go up to 17K... in 3D mark yup, i did use ddu prior installing the driver, didn't use ccleaner though. Hmm Here is from my Obsolete Gpu... is Stock Clock by Sapphire [attachmentid=4238147] Hello, Have you done Display Driver Uninstaller ? choose option New Gpu install this make sure fully remove of the previous file from past gpu. And use CCleaner to clean up Reg file Note: do DDu first than CCleaner.. / best way to found out if your Gpu compromise ot down-performance is by benchmark not using Online game which sometime speed broadband Count. |

QUOTE(azizul1975 @ Dec 2 2014, 10:11 AM) one good thing about nVidia (over AMD) is the power supply requirement. they improve over the years, unlike AMD where they seem to get worse. still if you can get the R9 290 cheaply, i suggest go in that route, I don't see much improvement compared to gtx 970 for example, though in games like Skyrim with ENB modding, you can definitely see vast performance improvement with the gtx 970, mainly no more stuttering and random fps drops |

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Dec 3 2014, 03:06 PM) Ok, checked. Phantom. Will buy Phantom. Its stable right? No tearing. TPD still same as reference 970 card right? (PS: Google is not my friend). it's stable, for screen tearing , use adaptive v-sync in Nvidia control panel and enable v-sync in game, should iron out the tearing most of the times. tdp will be slightly higher than the reference card, but it's not a biggie bcoz this maxwell card is very power efficient. The temp is also cooler.QUOTE(gogo2 @ Dec 3 2014, 03:07 PM) Only the 290X has an 8GB memory buffer bro, theoretically it's faster than the 290 and neck to neck/ a bit faster than the 290X but in some games , but sometimes the amd card is faster likewise vise versa nvidia is faster in other games. One thing for sure you can definitely max out most of the games out there with this card |

Just found a fix for Dragon Age Inquisition. If you're suffering from frame hitching , go to nvidia control panel , change power management option to 'maximum performance' and turn on the triple buffering option.
It completely remove the annoying frame hitching and the game ran a lot more smoother (really2 please with this fix) Though I tried the same fix on BF4 and the frame hitching is still there |

QUOTE(akachester @ Dec 5 2014, 02:08 PM) Anyone of you tried running SC2 on Ultra / Extreme on GTX980? It is quite laggy on mine, occasional jerk every 5 seconds and i wonder is that a driver issue or the 980 cant support that that's called frame hitching, I encountered it when playing DA:I and BF4, turned out Origin was the problem.Just post your problem there, have a feeling its driver issue rather than hardware related. |

QUOTE(chaics85 @ Dec 5 2014, 10:24 PM) guys.. those using msi tiger front cover gtx 970. may i know how's the idle and load temp and noise level of that card? a buddy of mine is interested, but couldnt find much review.. temp-at idle is around 35-36 degrees while at full load it's 76 degrees(it stays relatively at this temp). For noise , at load I won't say its the most quietest of card(compared to my asus directcuii, that one is dead silent) but it's certainly not an annoyingly loud card at all. My cpu stock fan is louder though(need to clean it If you're coming from previous generation of gpus, this would be a big upgrade |
