Go buy one and overclock your CPU... brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif

BTW, I'm completely impressed by the GTX970 and the 980...  It seems like AMD is going to be in trouble, considering those cards are cheaper than the R9 290/290X, with greater performance and lower power consumption to boot.

I really want to see AMD to create a hugely successful architecture just like what they did to Cypress (aka the Radeon 5000 series).  I wonder how AMD is going to respond to this situation...  Huge price cuts maybe? brows.gif

AMD really needs to hit a home run with their future GPUs, otherwise there will be no or little competition in the GPU market... tongue.gif

Now... I wonder whether should I upgrade to a GTX970 from my HD7950... brows.gif
*
AMD probably going to lower R9 290/290x price and beef up more on AMD Game Rewards... brows.gif

QUOTE(-cmi- @ Oct 14 2014, 02:33 AM)
Hi guyz. I got some weird and frustrating prob with my PC atm.
I just bought Palit Jetstream GTX 970 weeks ago from CYCOM.
The prob is, my pc sometimes won't start after i restart my comp or after shut down.
To make it worst, this issue not happen everytime and usually when it happened, i need to plug out my GPU back and rub the part that connecting with my mobo to make it work again.
When this prob occur, all LED light inside casing, fan, processor etc are working but the screen just stay blank.
I also try to remove my GPU and my comp work like normal w/o any prob.
For extra information, i used R9 280X and ATI 5770 before and i never face this kind of prob.

Anyone know what is the real prob? Is it because my GPU is faulty? Or maybe because my mobo version just not compatible with my card? Or maybe my PSU faulty?
Anyway i do use latest driver version for my GPU.

This is my pc spec.

Proc - i5 4460
Mobo - Asrock H97M Pro4
Ram - Kingston 1600 mhz 8gb
GPU - Palit Jetstream GTX 970
PSU - Seasonic S12 620w

I also face some coil whine with my current  GPU. Is it normal? Or can i claim under warranty for this issue?
I don't know why but i feel my current GPU feel unstable, not like my old Sapphire R9 280X.
Anyone please help me. I hope i can verify what is the actual prob so i can send back to warranty asap.
All of part that i mentioned above is still new (bought around 2 month ago) and still under long warranty.

hmm.gif by look hardware should not be problem.. have you done clean Driver install ? ( using DDU chose uninstall on safe mode) have you check Display cable connect properly into display cards(DVi or Hdmi) ? Coil whine usually norm thing on new gpu" so after certain day of use it should iron out the coil whine.. hmm.gif have you manage to play game or benchmark on gpu after new install GTX 970 ?

Add-on: ddu link / make sure ur using latets driver nvidia

QUOTE(area61 @ Oct 14 2014, 10:22 AM)
Seems like the GTX 960 will be delayed

Several sources in the industry indicate that the pending release of a new graphics card called GeForce GTX 960 will be delayed into Q1 2015. The product was supposed to launch mid-October 2014, though that was based up-on speculation.

The precise reason behind the delay is not yet known, but it was speculated that the product would be based on the GM204, the same chip that is being used in the GeForce GTX 970 and 980 as well. Since these products are intensely popular, it might simple be a stock allocation issue of the GPU and of course, Nvidia can make a few extra bucks selling the same GPU in a higher end SKU.

An interesting side effect of the delay will be that there is a gap in the market, a gap that the competition with the Radeon R9 285 happily seems to fill.

Nvidia will not confirm this rumor, as they do not talk about un-announced products ever.

http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/nvidia-ge...to-q1-2015.html

Im guessing the performance would be in the level of GTX770 or slightly slower, maybe on par with R9 285
